Wednesday and the Rain Keeps on Falling down.. Cooler at Last..

"If you cannot find it in yourself, where will you go for it?"

"I am not bothered by the fact that I am unknown. I am bothered when I do not know others."

"The small man thinks that small acts of goodness are of no benefit, and does not do them; and that small deeds of evil do no harm, and does not refrain from them. Hence, his wickedness becomes so great that it cannot be concealed, and his guilt so great that it cannot be pardoned."

all by Confucius..

ABC Wednesday- K is for...?!..
Keep-sakes.. ... kinfolk.. .. and Kisses!...

Kisses

kaleidoscope of kindnesses
rain down upon my back..

knitted hats and knots untied
for those you have a knack...

karma chose you for me
to bounce upon your knee

just another kid at heart
is what I seem to be

kettles boil and time will keep
until the kite has flown

for knights like you are hard to find
once the kindest years are gone

knowledge isn't always friend
in fact.. sometimes is foe

but you my friend are the best of kings
a peasant girl could know

kisses melt the coldest heart
like candy in the palm

but keepers come but once along
to the weary heart a balm

now knobs and knives and fishing things
we pack into a sack

and hand in hand we walk along
ahead.. we don't look back..

and as a Bonus because they are always fun....

Thursday Thunks: What's in a Name?

The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of Kimber's hair (where did she go?) and the number 333.

1. We are changing your name. You have no choice. You get to pick it, but we must approve it. You must have a good reason. OK, what is the name and reason?~ No way.. I like my name or parts of it anyway.. I already changed it a few times myself.. you can change it to .. mean old crazy lady.. if you must.. but otherwise.. Patsy suits me fine.. and after all that is a change from my real name..

2. I say Shotgun, you say?~ Run fool.. somebody is shooting at us!- that reminds me of a time when I walking the dogs and all of a sudden I heard six or seven shots and the limb fell off the tree next to me.. needless to say.. the third line of the first haiku above is how my dog walking adventure ended that night..

3. We are sending you away. Africa or Mexico? ~ am I in witness protection.. ( that might be fun.. who did I see do what.. to who.. ?)~ am I taking money with me? ... can I go see what each one looks like first?.. If I can I will.. but if not I'll go to Mexico.. I have heard that with ten dollars you can live like a king there.. and I happen to have ten dollars stashed for emergencies..

4. When you're home alone, do you still close the door when you use the restroom?~ I do because family.. as in KIDS.. have keys and they use them if I don't come to the door.. why do you care were you planning to peep?

5. Berleen told me that I have to ask a mean question. Tell us about a horrible memory.~ I remember once this mean person.. I think her name might have been Berleen.. anyway.. she tried to steal my natural identity and ship me off to Africa..or maybe it was Mexico.. she tried to confuse me by asking me a bunch of weird questions about using the bathroom and shotguns.. I shudder even now..

6. What are your plans for October? ~ I plan to make some cute jack-o-lanterns from soda bottles and light up my yard even though my neighbors think it's sinful.. I plan to rake up some leaves as they fall.. I might even blog.. I might even blog about my Jack-o-lanterns...

7. Is there anyone that you regret ever meeting ?~ No there is not.. I bet some people thought I would say there was.. but my life now is a reflection of all who have passed through it and some of them would leave great big holes if I had never met them.. so OK... maybe I regret meeting the guy that stole the towels from the hotel when I worked there.. but other than that no..

8. You have 3 months left to live, what do you do?~ I write letters to my family and friends.. I give away my dolls and some other stuff.. and I clean up this house.. then they find a cure and I live a hundred more years.. actually if I have three months to live I'd just as soon not know it.. who wants to clean house?

9. You wake up in an unfamiliar place, what is your first reaction?~ how much DID I drink?

10. Your phone rings at 4am, just before you kill this person, who do you expect it would be?~ it will be the damn sawmill.. either Dave left something on or some moron besides him left something on or they need Cooper to come to work.. and he is not answering his phone.. can you tell this happens a lot?..

11. You're having a bad day, what one thing can make your day better?~ writing usually helps..

12. You are doing a meme written by the blogosphere's shadiest character. Is there anything else that you should be doing right now? ~ I should be walking the dogs for their last time before bed.. they are waiting legs crossed and eye floating..

13. If money were not a problem.. where would you like to live? ~ Jeez you already shipped me off to Africa.. now you want ME to choose.. OK.. I choose right here.. I am at peace with-in here.. but can we buy out the neighbors and build me an ocean out back?... maybe I'll just move to an island I hear Alcatraz is empty.. or even a lighthouse that sits out in the ocean.. and sense money is no problem can I get food and drinks shipped in daily.. I'm gonna need a boat and some fancy swim wear too... snorkels and air tanks and some cute shorts for the pilots of planes flying over.. I can't look like a frump out there you know.. Dave will want the newest model of jet ski and some new fishing equipment.. I wonder if you can build a floating skateboard ramp?.. bird food will be on the list and chicken scratch too.. three floating pens should work for them.. the gardens might be a problem but hey with all the money in the world I think we can make it work.... PLEASE... get REAL.. I like it here!but I could use some money if you have any to spare...

Thanks for stopping by tonight.. I hope you enjoyed your three things for Thursday tonight.. and hey I even gave a bonus tonight.. GO me!! I welcome comments and followers.. Have a great day!

I love getting comments.. but.. every once in a great great while I get a comment that I simply delete for being spam or its absolute rudeness.. I always copy and paste them so that I can save a copy.. and later I will look through them and those that were not just spam.. I will either answer the person.. the best I can without being rude in return.. or in a few rare cases I delete them permanently and forget it.. I love writing poems from word lists or word prompts.. I was always saying send me words and I'll write you a poem.. One morning I had what I thought was a rude comment and though I won't share the whole thing with you.. and NO I won't say who said it.. I have decided to share a tiny part of the comment with you and the poem I have written from their words...
~[ some mornings you make me sickest.. you can't write poems like you said.. (lots of curse words would go here )... words are.. thirst.. flick and pecker-ed.. See what you can do with those smarty pants...and don't write me no sissy ocean poem neither... ]
and so dear reader.. here is your poem.. I pray that it won't make you sickest(?).. and if it does......

Today I wrote a few things... cleared out some old saved comments that weren't allowed to stay on my blog.. rode with mama.. talked to my friend and sister-in-law who has been very ill.. did laundry.. mine his and his.. fed the puppies their very first chow.. worked on a yellow hat.. drank a pot of coffee.. made tea and lemonade for the men.. answered the phone a gazillion times... looked up some stuff.. stalked facebook.. played some games.. and pretty much did nothing.. wait.. I walked the dogs and gathered eggs if that counts?.. but best of all... I wrote.. I feel better when I write something each day.. it's like as the words leave my pen I relax and let things go.. I really do have to try to write something every day.. I can get nasty after a few days..
Thanks for stopping by today.. I hope you laughed.. Have a great day!

Imagine you can only keep 5 things that you have (people not included). What 5 things would you keep? ~ OK First off i can't EVEN imagine that!.. that is crazy.. you obviously have never seen my stuff...I have way too much stuff to just choose five but I will try.. five things huh.. OK lets see..

1~ I need my computer.. I'm hoping the three major parts count as one thing.. you know "COMPUTER= monitor+tower+Keyboard..".. If not then I'll take the laptop.. I know it's just one thing..
2~My biggest pot.. I hope y'all know I can cook up some mean stuff in just one pot.. but I want a big one.. not any tiny fondue sized pot for me..
3~ my biggest basket of crochet thread.. ( trying to sneak this one off as just one too.. I didn't see any reason to mention that hidden down in there is at least one doll and all my hooks and scissors..) Once the lid is on and it's hefted onto my back it is just ONE basket..
4~my hairbrush.. I have to brush this mess a few times a day.. I ain't about to comb it with a fish bone or nothing else..
5~ My backpack.. wait now don't look in there.. it's just a backpack..

~ see I know me.. I could get a lot of stuff in five things... but I know that wasn't what you asked so here I go being silly.. when what you wanted was this..

~Laptop.. brush.. Biggest pot.. Notebook of paper.. one doll..

What's the hardest thing you've ever had to learn?~ when to talk and when to listen.. I still haven't figured this one out right.. and being me.. I may never get it right..

Today is the first day of the rest of my life and I'm going to... enjoy it if it kills YOU!! .. I am going to spend time with my family and feed animals and crochet and WRITE!! .. and I am going to be grateful for all things good..

- My House-mates.. Cooper and Dave..

As days go this one was pretty good in spite of it being one of the most dreaded.. hated.. dastardly.. days known as Mondays.. I never understood that.. I always went to work on Monday refreshed and ready.. willing and able to have a good week.. by Wednesday I was bored with the routine and ready for the weekend.. Mondays now means a few extra hours with either/or Dave and Cooper.. I say that like they actually spend time doing stuff with me.. we all know they don't .. they have their own pursuits.. Dave has stuff to do in the barn and for people who need stuff welded or fixed or maybe just looked at..

Cooper has sleep to catch up on and boards to ride and games to play and friends to see about a dog.. or maybe it was a cat.. but you know what I mean.. I still like Mondays though.. Dave is home a little longer and he doesn't sleep half the day away.. we usually go to town on Monday and even if it's just to pay bills it gives me a push to leave the property.. I walk all over at least three times a day and that adds up to quiet a distance but even with the long walks I am always at home.. seven acres is quiet a long walk when you go around the edge of it thirty times a day with dogs dragging you.. sniffing and panting..

I could leave.. but I don't need to leave.. so I stay.. I do go to poetry club meetings once a month.. on MONDAY.. so see Monday has a lot going for it.. I grocery shop on Mondays with my camera in hand.. I finally took pity on the produce manager at my favorite store and explained why I was making a photo of his squash.. he even helped me look for something blue for my other blog.. Like I said all in all today was an alright day.. I am glad you took a few minutes to stop by my world today.. I hope you enjoyed your stop.. maybe you even laughed.. I welcome comments.. Have a great day!

Anger

teeth clenched
tension creeping
up or down my spine..

rage flickered
meanness flared
burning up my mind..

the apple don't fall..
far from the ugly tree..
muttered neath my breath..

damn I'm a heifer..
the anger died..
a swift and sudden death..

what apple he asked
what tree he dared
and I cried..

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God ...

Today has been long and tiring.. I don't know why people sometimes like to lash out at others when things are not going well for them.. we all do the best we can with what we have.. I do and I'm sure everyone else does too.. on the other hand I know that frustrations can be a heavy burden when you see someone near and dear to you suffering.. I don't like to get angry.. I am not nice when I am riled.. I love people as best I can and sometimes.. rarely.. even my very best doesn't suit.. Today has been one of those days.. phones have rung and rung and people have asked me things I didn't know the answer too.. I had to wake people who were too tired to let go of sleep.. my dogs are growling at something I can't see.. even the puppies have been barking..
I yelled shut up just as Dave was trying to get the door unlocked.. he stopped still.. I love my family.. every single one of them.. I would do anything I could for each of them.. from wipe their nose to rock their baby.. I will go when I am called morning or night.. I will hold them up when they can barely stand and hold their hand when they need a friend.. and sometimes I will be angry for just a second.. But I will toss it off because after all they might just need a hug..
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.. I do have another blog .. it has lots of photos....
You can find it here.. I welcome comments.. Have a great day!

... Wordless Wednesday~

********************

Another hot a dry day.. We have had plenty of those in a row.. they are expensive days.. you have to drink more.. and even if you don't buy bottled water you either have to pay for it or pay for the electricity to run a pump.. and of course you have to have a fan and an air conditioner.. or at least one or the other or maybe both.. yea both.. and you forgot there was a window open in the bathroom.. yes.. it's a bathroom.. gotta let smells out.. and so the cool air or even the fanned air goes out too.. it's a never ending cycle.. all of my plants want water.. I'm thinking on letting it rain here tomorrow.. set up sprinklers.. let the birds have baths.. listen to the frogs sing..

..... We are the proud parents.. (owners) of nine puppies.. they are two weeks old today.. Their parents were a gift from a friend.. I'm sure the dogs wouldn't have picked us.. but it was us or the pound.. Clyde has barked all day at nothing.. every once in a while he barks at the wall.. then tonight as we crossed the yard I saw a shadow.. actually an extra shadow.. me.. two dog shadows and hmmm.. who is the tall guy?... and then he growled.. I'd say a ghost if I believed in them.. maybe it's one getting an early start on Halloween.. but Clyde keeps growling at it even though it looks like nothing.. I think it's nothing.. Do you think it's anything?.. Maybe it's something.. No... No... I'm sure its nothing..

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my world today.. I welcome comments..
Have a wonderful day!

Two 4 Tuesday- Antique~ Modern

*** Antique Kitchenware decorates my oldest sister's home.. Trudel cares for it with the same attention that her Grandma- in- law did.. she plans to pass it on.. I really think that old time folks knew they might not have money for more so they took care of what they had.. I have a ton of the old stuff.. it last forever.. can't be beat by the modern.. break on the way home.. kitchen ware...

.. Coffee cups.. a dime a dozen..
not quiet but at a dime each you could afford to buy a dozen.. I am glad that I spotted these at the thrift store for animal advocacy instead of at the land field.. I have one cup I like to use.. I have a cabinet full of cups I am glad to share with visitors.. please feel free to take it with you when you go.. or eventually it too might end up in a basket of cups sold to buy dog food..

Thanks for stopping by my wild and crazy world today.. I have been busy today.. Dog walking still takes a lot of time.. we haven't started "walking" the puppies yet.. I was thinking about getting one of those old fashioned fish stringers.. the metal kind that has a big hook thing every so often.. I could hook all nine of them to it and with some training I could be dog "riding " very soon.. The turkeys and chickens still have to be fed and watered.. the hog wants to be scratched and the men folks also think they need to eat.. sounds like I don't have a trained creature in the whole bunch doesn't it.. I had visitors today.. I always like that.. the shortest one was working away on his "butt" rag as he said Grandma called it.. I was tickled to see him trying to learn a craft.. I think all kids should learn something from the past.. and crochet is becoming a lost art.. I cooked.. I cleaned.. I laundered.. I had a day! Thanks for being a part of my day! and for making me a part of yours! I welcome comments.. I hope you had a great day!
