UPDATE- Did you make a what is it guess yesterday? ? I did have a few guesses and some of them were very close.. thanks for playing along and keep looking for my next what is it.. Look close at the following photo.. this is where you find yesterday's What is it.. I personally couldn't swear to what this thing is called.. I was told by a friend.. who knows a lot of stuff.. that it is called a guard rail turnbuckle.. I would just call it a nut and a bolt with lots of flat washers.. But whatever it is called.. it's function is to hold the guardrail on bridges tight.. thanks for stopping by my blog.. I welcome both comments and followers.. Have a great night..

What is IT?
Every once In a while I find something that I am interested in seeing how many of you know what the thing is.. this is certainly one of those things.. Do you know what the pictured item is.. where is it found?.. what is it used for.. ? Do you have any idea..? I stumbled onto this while trying to get close to another subject I wanted to photograph.. I bet all of you have passed one of these recently without even noticing it.. Have you seen one of these things lately.. someone out there knows what this is.. is that someone you?.. Please take a guess at what this thing is.. WHAT IS IT?? I will update tomorrow with the truth about what it is..

no pleasure brings
as braced against the porch rail

kissing her silently he hears the trap slam shut

Your dream poem is brilliant! You surprised me with its intent.

Oops for the magpie...
n lol for the second one...
Great writing!:)
Outstanding 160!
Great response to magpie prompt!
Well, it's serves the same purpose as a turnbuckle, but it's not really the same thing...a turnbuckle is a real kind of hardware with a bolt on each end and a piece in the middle used to space them out. The only reason I know this is because I was in the sign business for 20 years, and had the *cough* joy of working with them on a regular basis.
I especially liked the "distant dreams" poem and the photo right below it. Wonderful post!
.. and they lived happily ever after, I hope. All of them.
