Ten On Tuesday tonight would like for us to list....

Ten Things You wish You knew how to do!

1-) drive a stick shift~ Dave has owned several stick shift vehicles.. I used to drive a bobcat that was stick.. how did I forget?

2-) cut hair~ Dave and I both need a trim right now.. think of all the money I could save if I could learn this..

3-) train a pig~ Don't you think Pork chop would make a good trained pig.. maybe even a movie star pig.. If she was a movie star could I spend her money?

4-) build a log cabin~ I want a real one hand made not from a kit.. I had a log barn for my horses once at a house I rented.. I personally think Dave and I could do this..

5-) fix a roof~ yes fix a roof.. my roof.. and any other roof that needs fixing.. I think they make good money at that job.. In fact roof repair is expensive as the devil..

6-) play a musical instrument~ I can play the radio but that doesn't really count.. I want to really play something and make beautiful music..

7-) read people's evil minds~ I see the evil looks some folks toss my way.. actually I have a good idea of the thoughts too.. oh well.. can one be trained to read minds?

8-) speak other languages~ pig Latin and double Chinese aside.. I would love to learn some other languages..I'm pretty sure the curse words that I learned in french wouldn't get me very far either.. I have some Spanish disks maybe I'll teach me that!

9-) cook on a wood stove~ I have done this and burned some stuff.. I want a real antique wood cook stove and then learn how to actually use it.. how to regulate the heat so as not to burn up the bread!

10-) make life easier for my kids and Grand-kids.. this is a hard one.. there really is no easy in life today.. Maybe once I train my pig and learn to do roof repairs I can use my fortune I gather from these things to make a easy life for my children.. wow!! I hope they aren't holding their breath until then.. but if I do learn how to get rich.. I will definitely share the wealth..

Guilty Pleasures~ Ten On Tuesday!!

Ten On Tuesday asks us today to name ten of our guilty pleasures.. I personally have more than ten to choose from.. I could most likely give a lot more than ten if I needed to.. Thankfully they only asked for ten so some of my secrets will still be safe.....

A guilty pleasure is something one considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying it..Often, the "guilt" involved is simply fear of others discovering you're lowest obsession or embarrassing tastes, rather than actual moral guilt....Fashion... music... reading material.. and food.. are all examples of guilty pleasures...

1-}~ Chocolate.. I love it.. especially dark chocolate or chocolate covered cherries.. chocolate covered orange slices are fine indeed.. brownies.. chocolate pie.. chocolate cake..chocolate! YES!!

2-}~ Coffee.. I can drink it from sun up to sun down and have even been known to take a cup with me to bed..lucky for me it doesn't keep me awake..

3-}~ Home baked bread.. with REAL BUTTER!.. yes I am aware that it is fattening.. but it's too late for me to worry about that.. if I am going to the trouble to bake bread.. I want real butter.. (and yes it is a lot of trouble to use a bread machine!..)

4-}~ Tequila.. OK you don't have to drink any.. that means there is more for me.. salt and lime would be nice but I can drink it without.. Now before anyone gets all in a snit..and thinks me to be a drunkard.. I love it but haven't had any tequila in about a year.. but if you were running out to buy me some.. get the good kind please!..

5-}~ Birds singing in my greenhouse room.. yes they are caged.. they have adequate water and food.. they are babied and petted and have extra large cages... all but one of them has a mate..the room is glassed in all around and filled with plants.. they sing constantly so I am assuming they are happy.. they even have baths where they splash and play in the afternoon sun... but yes.. they are caged...

6-}~ Old fashion dolls... Barbie and before Barbie and after Barbie.. Barbie's friends.. naked dolls and dressed dolls and yard sale dolls and flea market ladies.. I really love the 18 inch versions of old fashion dolls.. I will take any that are in your way.. I love dolls.. My wonderful husband usually gets me at least one for Christmas as do some of my children.. Yes.. I am too old for dolls.. but I do enjoy sewing and crocheting them clothes..and I do of course need one of every kind for a pattern design model.. Do you have a kind that I don't have????

7-}~ Donny Osmond albums... I have a few.. I want some more of those too.. I have an old record player that still plays.... I used to share this great music with the kids in my life until they said it sucked.. after that I just played it every single day of the long long summer for spite... I listened to some of them a few nights ago while Dave and I were finishing up the bedroom we remodeled..
it doesn't have a television.. it has instead our albums and my very old record player....

8-}~ Ice cream.. I love ice cream..don't even go there with the fattening thing again.. I've already said it was too late for that.. I love the kind that has a lot of STUFF in it.. like cherries and chocolate and stuff!.. I'll eat any kind except for butter pecan.. I like pecans and I like butter but not in my ice cream..

9-}~ Leggings with a long t-shirt.. I am well aware that those are for "young" people.. I have been told that they are out of style.. Of course everything about me is out of style.. I still have a few pair and sometimes I sleep in them.. sometimes I wear them all day and cut the grass wearing them and feed chickens wearing them.. I cook and clean wearing them too... Dave doesn't mind if I'm out of style.. sometimes I even wear them with my old Indian moccasins... maybe I'll wear that outfit the next time I come to a family gathering... at your house...NAH I wouldn't do you that way.. scared you though didn't I?

10-}~Video games.. Roll playing games in particular.. I love games that allow me the chance .. for a little while.. to be someone else.. I play all the facebook games..I love the Sims games... I have played nearly every roll playing game to be offered for free on-line.. I have been a farmer and an island castaway...A mafia king pin and a chef in a fine restaurant.. I have played all of the Final Fantasy games and worn out two PlayStation-2 consoles on roll playing games... I can be someone else for a little while.. I can even be an alien.. then with the flip of a switch.. I am still me... in my out of style leggings... in my old house.. with my cup of black coffee.. and my caged birds cooing and singing.. chickens crowing and Old records playing.. And in the end.. I like me well enough!! Have a great night!

Ten On Tuesday!

Ten things that make you feel Old!!
1~}~Emily getting married... she was just born yesterday when I was 28.. now she is planning a wedding.. I'm old as dirt! ( That's Em three days old getting a kiss from Cooper!)

2~}~Grown children.. I don't tell them they are grown.. I was hoping they wouldn't notice yet... but I think they know it..

3~}~Grand children... wow where did they come from?.... No!!!... In fact you can even make that a HELL NO!! I do not want details.. I get the idea.. See!! .. that's why I didn't tell them they were grown.. as soon as they figured it out they think they can scare old people.. wow! and now Grand kids too??... Grand-kids huh?... they grow up and do to the parents what mine did to me..make them feel old..?.. Yea? Hmmm.. Grand-kids.. COOL!

4~}~Wrinkles.. I looked at me in the mirror by accident the other night.. Phew!!! wrinkles...enough said..

5~}~Forgetting names.. what was your name again?? yea you.. If you're a guy I'm going to call you Reuben most likely.. and if you're a girl you'll be Martha.. and if all else fails I will point at you and say hey you.. so don't act like you can't tell who this wrinkled old lady is talking too..

6~}~ Joints... no dummy not the smoking kind.. that is way back long ago in the seventies stuff... creaking joints as in knees and elbows.. even a hip that creaks sometimes..

7~}~Gray hair.. I have lots of it.. Dave says I'm lucky to still have hair.. Thanks babe.. you're right!

8~}~ Eyesight.. well if I still had some..... we were at a thing up town a week or so ago and someone asked me.. "who is that over there".. I said "where"? ..they said.. "right there.. over there.. see them?" ...I saw a big blur of things over there.. I wasn't wearing my glasses and if I had been I could have only "read" those poor folks.. They would have been standing close to me for me to really see them.. finally I said.. "I give up who is it?!"yea.. I know we have an eye doctor in town.. but if I go get glasses I will be admitting that I'm old!!

9~}~ Death.. I think about death.. I have lost a lot of family members.. some of them old of course.. but on the other hand.. many of them very young.. some of them younger than me.. a few years ago about four friends of mine all died right along together.. I hadn't thought much about death until then.. any body can die.. even babies.. but four people in their fifties all right together.. It reminded me that we are not getting younger..

10~}~ FIFTY! Oh Man!! I said it out loud.. I guess that makes it true! I will be fifty this year.. half a hundred.. Older than dirt.. when I Toot out will come a cloud of dust!<~~ or so Cooper says... will I be too old to party? too old to dance? wrinkled and cranky old??? It is not nifty that I'll be fifty!!!

Now I really feel old.. next thing you know I'll be drinking that nasty fiber stuff and trying on canes.. Jeez.. I feel like putting on some support hose and creeping off to bed..but first I'm going to check my ears and nostrils for those crinkled gray hairs that old people sprout from the most ungodly places.... after all.. I am old!!
