Tomorrow
I often fear the best of times
for hard times surely follow
to grasp a soul and fill it full
of a bitter pill to swallow
useless words are whispered low
to fill a heart that's hollow
till darkness dances on it's way
and sunshine fills the morrow..

The Sunday Whirl- Wordle #30
We Write Poems - Prompt #80
Pamela Sayers asked us to gather a minimum of twelve words, then write little snapshots in response to each word. Each small “poemlet” could stand on its’ own or perhaps have some relationship to the rest... as usual I have combined a few meme's to write what my heart and soul believed in..
A Dozen Thoughts
what impetus moves the bees
diligently.. sweetly
justifiable vindication..declared
my middle finger stands..
eloquent words sputtered
the Holy Book pounding the podium
no solace for the sinners
no cuddles for me
friendship swivels
on a tightrope with no balance
motionless I stand
but the chirping birds pass me by
pretty pink coral smoothed
deep in my blue jean pocket
rapidly the world spins on
no worries no worries man
point at your brother
homeless needy despairing
stand tall Samaritan
your strength is in the weary
the cleaning lady giggles
effortlessly attracting consideration
Ahhh... Another lunch hour has escaped me
while I was giving my life some thought

The Climb
It had not been love at first sight... she had just began to shrivel when he pounced on her from the lowest limbs of the old tree.. He was a rare form of ugly.. one that few had ever seen and none had admired.. fanning her with a newspaper he had offered her a piece of gum to chew.. as if they were nothing more than humans on a desert camping trip...
"It's the only way to hide in plain view " He explained..
Knowing that it was time.. she followed him deep into the caverns.. where their ascension began...

sat on the hill
a bucket in each of their hands
they toiled in the sun
and considered it fun
till the waves invaded their lands
sat on the hill
a bucket in each of their hands
they toiled in the sun
and considered it fun
till the waves invaded their lands
their moat overflowed
the castle was bowed
a crab ran away with a shell
they stomped everything down
in the sand castle town
and ran home with a story to tell..

Poetic Bloomings- PUN-KU
Every week they offer us new ideas in poetry form.. this week we are introduced to a new poetic form, which is called the PUN-KU. Here are the requirements for writing one.
(1) Unlike the haiku that allows for a less than strict adherence to the 17-syllable rule, the pun-ku must be exactly 17 syllables long.
(2) It contains only four (4) lines arranged syllabically as follows:
Line 1: 4 syllables Line 2: 5 syllables Line 3: 4 syllables Line 4: 4 syllables
(3) As for the end-rhyme pattern, Lines 1 and 2 do not rhyme. Lines 3 and 4 do.
(4) The pun-ku must contain a pun on one or more of the words used in the poem. The subject matter deals with human nature, is light, humorous, or witty.
(5) The title of the pun-ku can only be one- or two-words long (or short).

Sensational Haiku Wednesday- Attention
==============================
Have you wondered where I am?... I have been gone from my blog for way to long.. Life has been pretending that I am a yo yo.. tossing me this way and that.. sometimes even letting me sleep as it plans it's next attack.. Today I discovered my husbands drill abandoned and took out my frustrations on baskets.. boards.. buckets and even a rake.. hoping that the something different might exercise my angers.. cool my fires.. still my thundering thoughts.. silence is often the best charge.. but it was not to be.. I am still feeling mean and vindictive.. Tomorrow I will leave the drill alone and attack the yard with a rake instead.. Maybe if I can't calm my spirit.. I can wear it out instead.. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.. I welcome comments and followers.. Have a great day!

Wednesday.. Drums and Downpours Fill My Day!..
"If money be not thy servant, it will be thy master. The covetous man cannot so properly be said to possess wealth, as that may be said to possess him." - Francis Bacon
"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." - Margaret Atwood
"Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems." - Rainer Maria Rilke

I still got soaked.. that was early this morning.. I told myself that it was a refreshing way to start the day... I welcome comments and followers.. Have a great day!

all week I have tried to come up with something witty and smart for the prompt that deals with something each of us.. who fancies ourselves as writers.. must face at some time.. writers block..
I am almost always able to twist words around to make something that passes for a poem or even a short story without to much trouble.. there are days when I don't want to write.. they are few and far between thankfully.. I do find that brownies often help.. this is my offering for "Against the grain"...
Against the Grain
words spill from my pen
meaningless gibberish all
brownies scent the air

Wednesday.. Wind ..Wind Blow This Bug Away!
"The young man knows the rules, but the old man knows the exceptions."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.
"Nothing that grieves us can be called little: by the eternal laws of proportion a child's loss of a doll and a king's loss of a crown are events of the same size."
- Mark Twain
"Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship." - Buddha

Happy Birthday Barbie!!

Barbie was born on this day in 1959 at the American International Toy Fair held in New York City... Ruth Handler had noticed that even though her daughter had only baby dolls.. she played with them as if they were much older.. looking for an adult doll She found Lilli.. though she was unaware that the German doll was modeled after a cartoon lady of the evening.. She convinced her husband Elliot.. to bring a similar doll to market... Mattel named the doll after Ruth and Elliot's daughter.. Barbie.. and has sold over a billion of them... a good many of them to me.. I even have a Lily doll that I was lucky enough to dig out of a box of old Barbies at a junk store.. I love to tell people that Barbie and I are the same age.. I guess though that she is actually a few months older than me.. I have many Barbies stored in boxes and cases.. I love to sew and crochet clothes for them and for the large family of dolls that has developed over the years.. Cousins.. boyfriends.. best friends... children.. furniture and even pets of Barbie are highly collectible..
