Friday.. I'm Over My Fit.. Made a Hat.. Walked Some Dogs.. It Looks Like Rain..

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned." ~ Buddha

"Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret."
~ Ambrose Bierce

"When angry, count to four; when very angry, swear."
~ Mark Twain

Anger

teeth clenched
tension creeping
up or down my spine..

rage flickered
meanness flared
burning up my mind..

the apple don't fall..
far from the ugly tree..
muttered neath my breath..

damn I'm a heifer..
the anger died..
a swift and sudden death..

what apple he asked
what tree he dared
and I cried..

Grandma's Garden (ABC Poem)

Apples.. beetles.. caterpillars..
daisies everywhere..
fertile ground.. hollyhocks..
Ivy jumbled kegs.. leafy mint.. nematodes..
oregano..peas..
quiet rest sunsets.. tomatoes under vines..
wheelbarrows.. Xanadu.. yearning zeal!

Fingerprint Friday

There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman that says:
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know its true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God ...
Fingerprint Friday asks us to share our own "Fingerprints".. these are a few of mine..
.. The Family that plays together....... A field of fresh Hay..
.. a Teeny Tiny blossom..

Today has been long and tiring.. I don't know why people sometimes like to lash out at others when things are not going well for them.. we all do the best we can with what we have.. I do and I'm sure everyone else does too.. on the other hand I know that frustrations can be a heavy burden when you see someone near and dear to you suffering.. I don't like to get angry.. I am not nice when I am riled.. I love people as best I can and sometimes.. rarely.. even my very best doesn't suit.. Today has been one of those days.. phones have rung and rung and people have asked me things I didn't know the answer too.. I had to wake people who were too tired to let go of sleep.. my dogs are growling at something I can't see.. even the puppies have been barking..
I yelled shut up just as Dave was trying to get the door unlocked.. he stopped still.. I love my family.. every single one of them.. I would do anything I could for each of them.. from wipe their nose to rock their baby.. I will go when I am called morning or night.. I will hold them up when they can barely stand and hold their hand when they need a friend.. and sometimes I will be angry for just a second.. But I will toss it off because after all they might just need a hug..
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.. I do have another blog .. it has lots of photos....
You can find it here.. I welcome comments.. Have a great day!
Patsy

Oh, Patsy, I'm just like you about how I feel towards my family, friends, and other people. But there are just days when I feel like exploding and screaming at the top of my lungs when they make me mad. I don't do neither one, of course, but I sure feel like it sometimes.

By the way, I love your poem at the top of this post.

It's okay to be beastly sometimes--we all do it. There are just some days when everyone is on your last nerve! Hang in there--this too shall pass. :)

I can identify readily with your poem. Sometimes our anger just lashes out there.

Boss Heifer...I remember you telling me about the bad apples and their reluctance to branch from the trunk. I wish sometimes that I could offer the same comfort that you've offered countless others. CocaCola and good conversations with old friends is about all I've got at the moment. Perhaps you should have posted a pic of yourself. You've left wuite a fingerprint on people too. I love you, Aunt Patsy! Thank you for wiping my nose and rocking my babies and coming to take care of us in the middle of the night and for all the hands you held, all the nerves you soothed, all the poems you wrote on napkins, all the hot dogs and ramen noodles and blue kool aid and slip n slides. Thank you for every lil thing you've done that was bigger than even you knew it would be. And always remember that all important phrase told to me countless times by some crazy woman...This too shall pass!

oops i didn't realize someone else had told you it would pass. I'm sorry Lin - the crazy woman I was referring to was Aunt Patsy herself... : - )
