3Word Wednesday~

fragile, rampant, tremor

The Lie

I smelled it on your breath
long before was cast

I know it was not first
nor will it be the last

rumors rampant I stood still
as other backs were turned

a fragile bond we shared
if so easy it was spurned

a tremor shakes my soul
as anger makes me weak

I choke upon the words
that I feel the need to speak

I trusted what you said
I lifted you up high

But you tossed it all away
with the utterance of a lie

Wednesday.. a Week Half Done.. 16 Years ... Did You Have a Nightmare?

"Many of our daydreams would darken into nightmares, were there a danger of their coming true!" ~ Logan Pearsall Smith

===================
One Shot Poetry..

The Dream...

Neanderthals stomp
in ever widening circles
gnarled hands clap in rhythm...
hissing stairs we climb
towering through gray skies
Me..? I am not afraid!
After all.. you are but a dream..
Really..? evil enquired..
escape the cry of a name...
sunrise hears the prayers..

Thanks for visiting my blog today.. I have had weeks of troubled sleep.. the death of a friend this past week did nothing to lessen my unrest.. Do you ever have times of restlessness...?
I searched high and low.. and even lower for a needle to make a photo of.. this is what I found.. an old needle that belonged to My Grandma Black.. she loaned it to me in 1977 to sew together some denim into a cover for a wore out couch...I can see her now telling me she needs it back.. It is a huge needle..blunt at the tip... I sewed the denim squares together with ribbon and big giant stitches.. She said plain as day she needed it back..and I still have it long after she has died.. I miss her.. I am not ashamed that I have her needle.. I am gladdened by finding it..
Hatred a slow burn hot.. hot.. hot.. as is passion!
thanks for stopping by my blog tonight.. I welcome both comments and followers..

I hate that I often wake up in a mood that sets the tone for a not so good day.. maybe I should set my science minded son on a search for a cure for those woke up with the ear ache had a bad dream can't get my nose to blow all around bad first thing in the mornings... I will hope for a better tomorrow.. I welcome both comments and followers.. Have a great day!

~ Moody Monday~ Rural-

<><><><><><><><><>
Sometimes I feel a little moody.. a little dark..
today has been one of those days.. days when nothing seems right..
and yet nothing exactly is wrong.. dark days..

Darkness-

I listen to troubles
not my own...

I cry for your sorrows
woes begone..

this too shall pass
I pray is true..

for you.. for you
for me.. for you..

darkness fades
you smile in the light..

begone darkness
for me.. not quite..

phone rings and smiles
you hear in my voice..

for I am me
and I have no choice..

so never think me
just mad or mean

I too have darkness
and no where to lean...

Thursday Thunks: Sneaking Out

The TT questions are brought to you by Bud, the color of a pumpkin pie and the number 3333.

1. When you snuck out of your house for the first time, who were you meeting and why?
-- I snuck out once before I was grown up.. I wasn't meeting any one.. I was going to fetch my cigarettes that I had to hide fast when Daddy almost caught me smoking.. On the other hand I used to dress the little ones up in crazy costumes and sneak them out and around to knock on the front door and scare My dad.. or at least he pretended to be scared.. I know once he thought my tiny sister was an old lady and he told me I should never do that again..

2. Tell us about the last time that you got your heart broken. Extra points if you publish their naked photo.-- I only wish I had that photo.. My heart has been broken so much that it is nothing now but duct tape and superglue.. I quit keeping count a long time ago so.. you don't really want to know anyway..

3. Tell us about someone you know named Bob. (Yes, we know this is a stupid question. Stupid is what we do best.) -- I know a few Bob's but the first one that came to mind was an old guy who is married to my sisters Mother-in-law.. what can I say about him?... hmm.. he is a nice old guy who builds awesome radio controlled airplanes..

4. We just found the perfect retail space. We are giving you the store. What’s its name and what do you sell?-- my store would have to be called "Patsy's Plunder" and I have a lot of junk I could sell .. including handmade baby hats.. doll clothes.. tea sets.. dolls.. shot glasses and what ever other plunder I can round up.. Maybe a quilt or two from my Mom and many other crafts and goodies..

5. Tell us about your last “friend with benefits".-- My kids and Family would say I never had one of those... I am going to let them believe that!

6. Kimber worries a lot. What was the last thing that you worried about?-- I can always find something to worry about.. money.. laundry.. was my chicken any good to eat.. I think the last thing was are my puppies eating enough..

7. Do you believe “once a cheater, always a cheater”?-- Sadly I do.. and I don't like cheating of any kind.. so don't cheat me at Old Maid or I won't play with you ever again..

8. Tell us about moving out of your parent’s home. Who did you move in with?-- I got married and moved into my own home with my first husband..we stayed together a lifetime.. he was my "baby daddy" three times over.. but I don't play old maid with him any more..

9. What was your most recent regret? -- I don't do regret very well.. I try to think things through so that I don't have to regret.. I haven't had any recently..

10. Berleen recently ranted on face book about having to got to parent-teacher conferences when your child has great grades. What was the stupidest meeting that you most recently endured? -- I always hated any kind of school meeting.. most of my time now is spent at home being a hermit..

11. Do you collect anything?-- I collect poems and quotes and recipe books and just books and dolls and tea sets and shot glasses and bottles and stuff and crochet patterns and more stuff.. yea I guess I collect anything..

12. Has anyone ever told you that you were in the wrong job?-- I have been told I should be a writer and a comedian and so many other weird things..

13. Is there something that you’d like to complete before the end of 2010? -- I have some craft things going that I would like to finish.. I pretty much take life one day at the time..
<><><><><><><><><><><><><>

And as a bonus because I didn't get to it last night...

3 Word Wednesday~

a septolet...

Shutterday- Rain!

"Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams." ~ Ashley Smith

"Life is the fire that burns and the sun that gives light. Life is the wind and the rain and the thunder in the sky. Life is matter and is earth, what is and what is not, and what beyond is in Eternity. " ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Monday.. Monday.. Please Hurry By!

"Every moment must be first known and then savored."

"None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are."

"To write something you have to risk making a fool of yourself."
All by Anne Rice.. who was born Howard Allen O'Brien in New Orleans.. Louisiana on this day in 1941... On her first day of school a nun asked her name and she replied "Anne"... Her mother who had stuck her with her father's name didn't correct her... In 1955 her mother died and her father moved with his two girls to Richardson.. Texas... Graduating from Richardson High School she then attended two Texas colleges and finished her B.A. at San Francisco State University before marrying Stan Rice... Her first book.. Interview with a Vampire was published in 1976.. the first of ten books in the Vampire Chronicles series... She also wrote about twenty other novels.. Her books have sold nearly 100 million copies, making her one of the most widely read authors in modern history... I personally own a few of her books and have enjoyed them all..

-The Treat-

Mouse sat in the pumpkin patch
and shed a weary tear..

How she had hoped and prayed
for pumpkin pie this year..

Farmer John had left her none
the pumpkins were all gone..

Packed into big boxes
shipped to parts unknown..

Mother mouse headed home
her belly gave growl..

Suddenly she turned and ran
for she thought was cat's meow..

She ran into a jagged hole
it almost appeared an eye

Suddenly she saw the truth
and knew she'd have a pie..

Pockets filled she hurried home
to bake a pastry shell..

Feasting on pumpkin pie
before Hallowed darkness fell...

*****
This week we were given a picture to write by instead of our usual phrase.. since most pumpkins are carved into decorations for the Halloween porch I decided to write something along that theme.. tonight must not be my night for writing small.. I had a hard time fitting this into the one hundred words allowed.. It must be because it's Monday!.. At least that's going to be my story and I'm sticking to it!
I thank you for stopping by my world today.. At least it is cooler than it has been.. I hope you enjoyed your visit here.. I welcome both comments and followers.. Have a great day!

I call this first photo "Young Love" Mama told me that they were about to go to the fair..

she also told me how Grandma Black warned the "boys" ( Daddy and Uncle Neal) to make her walk between them for safety sakes..

My siblings will all want to kill me for using this photo.. but I like it.. it shows us as kids and maybe a couple of young adults..

we are all trying not to laugh at something Jimmy said..

I love my family..between us we have produced a whole pile of kids.. grand-kids and Great Grands..
I treasure every member of the clan and feel that each of them is another special fingerprint from God..

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.. Today has been very busy with several visitors and one puppy moving to a new home.. She left snuggled in a shoe box in a lady's lap.. asleep with her tiny body curled around a soft green dinosaur.. I know the others miss her and so does Bonnie.. I saw Bonnie moving the others around as if she were counting them.. Too bad we can't keep all nine of them.. But even I know better than that..

I welcome both comments and followers!.. Have a wonderful night!
