It's Thursday! I have Three things for you!

"Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."
~ Buddha

"Speak the truth, do not yield to anger; give, if thou art asked for little; by these three steps thou wilt go near the gods." ~ Confucius

"One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. " ~ George Carlin

Wow!? Is it Thursday already? I guess it really is... I will be sharing with you three quick things today.. Having either quit or was fired.. I know, I should know, but either way it doesn't matter... from My job over a week ago I have been a very busy woman.. So tonight will be quick for a Thursday.. But I did do two posts on Tuesday so maybe Y'all will forgive me??? How about if I say Please?!

1:) ~ I am thankful to be an American! ~ I am Thankful to be an American for a great number of reasons but really really thankful after the escapade with my job... In many foreign countries
women are considered second class or maybe even no class citizens.. They are not allowed to have an opinion unless it of course either is or enhances the opinion of their husband.. Husbands and/or his brother, father, or any other piddling male relative may correct the families women if he thinks she needs it.. I will tell you that it was believed by my employer that I needed correcting and undoubtedly he had never reckoned with a red necked good old American woman before.. He kept telling me I was JUST a WOMAN.. and JUST an EMPLOYEE.. In between that and " IS NOT FOR YOU TO SPEAK WOMAN IS FOR YOU ONLY TO LISTEN!!!!" I couldn't squeeze in any good words at all.. Finally he said that Alla was slamming Heavens Gate in my ugly face and My Husband would get NO VIRGINS.. all because he said a room had no towels the night before and I said that they did.. because I had personally carried the guy towels just before I left the Hotel.. He was like a wild man.. ran at me and everything like a bull charging a red rag!..Then we waved his hand at me and said either I listen to man or I leave his property.... I was almost off of his property when he started telling the ladies that worked with me that I was a bad seed.. a bad influence on his wife and his families women.. Y'all do know I turned around and went back for round two? Yes! I thank God that I was born in America where we teach our girls that we too are important and where our husbands don't depend on our good deeds and our good wifely behavior to earn them virgins.. I am grateful for a good husband who allows me to have an opinion and who even lets me think!!! I never realized just how bad it is for many women in different parts of the world and even when they come here.. they are still bound by their own cultures.. I ask that each of you join me in Prayer for those women...

3:) A fun Picture and an acrostic poem!

Fishing ~ She said/ He said!

Fling it over that way baby!
I said that way.. over there!
Shoot! you didn't fling it where I said!
How do you know there aren't fish there..
I saw one jump just a minute ago!
Never listen to me.. I'm just a Woman!
Good thing I didn't want fish!

First and Last time I bring her with me!
I know how to fish!!!
She did NOT see a fish Jump!
How does she know where the fish are?
I always fish here..
Now I have an EXPERT along!
Good thing I didn't want to catch any fish!

Welcome to Weird Wednesday!

"If you can't annoy somebody, there's little point in writing." ~ Kingsley Amis

"A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs, jolted by every pebble in the road. " ~ Henry Ward Beecher

"It is only one step from the sublime to the ridiculous." ~ Napoleon Bonaparte

Hello to everyone who has been eagerly waiting on another weird Wednesday!.. What??? No one was waiting? Wow! Wouldn't I feel weird if really no one was waiting see just how weird I could be??? I hope that there is no one who would actually wait on my post.. I might get all weird and not post for a few days.. what would happen then? Would they just keep waiting? Would they go away and eat some pizza while they waited? Would they go away and not come back? OK enough of me being weird.. Lets get right down to the questions and answers.. those should be weird enough!

1:)~ Would you rather always get first dibs or the last laugh?~ when we were kids Jimmy was always hollering dibs over something.. if we were going somewhere it was dibs on the seat by the door.. or dibs on the front seat.. if we were grilling out by the pool it was dibs on the first hamburger or hot dog.. about the only time he wasn't yelling dibs was when Mama said " honey I'll pay you a quarter.." and Daddy said "line up to get your butt cut" .. then Jimmy didn't want to be anywhere in the first of the line when Daddy was freshest.. I never got first dibs on anything. If Jimmy didn't get dibs then Frank did.. they were both pretty quick with their dibs...
I don't really know if I ever got the last laugh either till I was really grown.. I have gotten the last laugh a few times since I was older.. The first time Mason peed on Anthony I got the last laugh.. I tried to explain how to change him so that wouldn't happen.. I got.. "Mama I KNOW what I am DOING!".. OK.. go ahead then big boy.. I even laughed right out at him as he tried to wipe it off his new shirt.. with his hand.. while the baby continued to pee on him.. then he covered it with a diaper and had pee on the bed and the child's clothes.. everywhere..( But he did learn and is a great Dad!) ~ My kids have all been good for some last laughs.. I am chuckling even now as I sit here alone in my weird little space and relive all of my last
laughs..MUHhahahahahahaa!! Yep! I'll take last laughs always.. Weird as it may sound first dibs aren't all they seem to be sometimes.. But he who laughs last~ laughs loudest!!!!

2:) ~Have you ever had an imaginary friend? ~ I guess it's weird being that I have such an imagination.. but I never had an imaginary friend.. I had so many siblings and so many other real children around that maybe I never needed an imaginary one.. Our Cousin Frances had one and he would cry if you sat on Tater.. Yes it's name was Tater!.. I know it's weird.. but he believed in Tater... Heck we even believed in Tater... we got a few whippings for deliberately sitting on Tater to make Frances cry... I wonder where Tater is now? I wonder if Fran ever thinks about Tater.. I think about Tater and he wasn't even my friend.. I couldn't see him though once I smelled him when Fran said Tater farted!.. It was weird but it didn't smell like an imaginary fart! It smelled like the real thing! I wonder if I'm too old for an Imaginary friend now?? It would be soooo weird! So much fun .. you could fart and say they did it.. just point to an empty chair and say Bogus did it.. In fact I like the idea.. I might get me a new friend.. Will Y'all think I'm weird?

3:) ~ Which is a stronger emotion: anger or love? I'd like to say Love.. I even think it should be love.. But you know for some weird reason.. anger can blind you to love.. or maybe it's that Love makes your anger so much stronger because you feel that a person you love shouldn't hurt you...shouldn't make you angry... I will admit that I am easy to anger sometimes.. some mornings I wake up angry.. I'm not even sure what I'm angry at.. I even think sometimes that I am just angry at myself.. then I realize how weird that is and figure I'm just angry in advance for something some one will do later in the day! Usually in my case though.. no matter how angry I get.. I still love the people who I do love... I think my love is hard to kill... I love people who have done me wrong.. I forgive and move on because I don't like to carry anger with me.. I guess I'm weird but anger can't hurt the other person.. they don't care or they wouldn't have hurt you to begin with.. Be weird like me and love everybody... My Motto is this~ Love Many! Trust a few! Harm None!....

4:) ~ Would you prefer the lights on or off during sex? ~ Somehow I knew there would be a sexual question on here.. My Kids won't think this is funny.. they think sex is too weird for old people like me.. ( is 49 old?) Maybe we can get a clapper and then we can take turns clapping when our hands are free and have flashing lights.. Or better yet I know where they are building a road... they have some yellow flashers set up there... maybe you will run and get us one for our bedroom???? Is this an overhead light or a lamp? .. maybe a lamp with a small watt bulb.. how about a night light? Can we maybe light some candles? .. some scented ones would be nice I think..Maybe we could just put a flash light under the pillow.. just in case you know... . I might like to see where something is.. I might even like to see ..... never mind just cut the lights off I know where all my parts are..

5:) ~
What do you have handy at your bedside?~ What a weird question.. I don't have a flash light.. I do have a lighter even though I no longer smoke.. I use it to light incense sticks and candles.. I do have both of those right by the bed too..You know just in case Tater ( the imaginary friend of my cousin) was to come visit and fart in my bedroom.. I also have my Bible there and My medicines that I take each night just before bed.. I always take with me a bottle of cold water from the fridge and sometimes I take something else to drink too.. I drink a lot.. Weird as it may sound I drink all night too.. I wake up and drink and go back to sleep.. I dream weird stuff and get thirsty.. I have even had to go after the second bottle of water before.. I also have a pen and a notebook there.. and a pencil.. I dream stuff and will wake up and write it down sometimes..I know Y'all think I'm weird so I don't mind telling you that I am weird.. really and truly.. I have woke up before and had a poem in my mind and wrote it right down while still in my bed.. then took a drink of water and went right back to sleep.. then the next morning I looked at the notebook and for a second wondered who wrote that?.. that was a weird feeling.. but it was my hand writing so I know it was just me being weird and not a ghost or anything really weird like that.. I don't think the ghosts here can write.. they never leave me notes.... I also have a stack of paper backs that I have already read and need to swap with someone.. and an Inhaler.. Wow you are nosy tonight! Now I wonder what you have beside your bed.. how weird is that???

OK all done with the weird questions.. who writes these things? Weirdos?? Y"all would be surprised at how many Internet sights there are simply devoted to weird questions.. I have been to a million of them and haven't even scratched the surface yet.. I am telling Y'all that this world has some truly weird people in it.. YES!! Weirder than ME!!! weirder than YOU!!! Weirder than me and you put together.. They make up these questions and every Wednesday I like a weirdo go and answer them.. or at least the ones that I think won't kill my Mom and my Kids! I hope you laughed at me tonight.. I had a few laughs myself thinking about the time tater farted and about the time Mason Peed on Anthony... I love to laugh.. I love to make others laugh too.. If you laughed tonight even if it was a weird laugh.. then I have accomplished much! Leave me a comment !!! Have a great night!!!!

It's Tuesday!.... Do you know what it is?

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed, there are many rewards; if you disgrace yourself, you can always write a book." - Ronald Reagan

"No arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is as formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women."- Ronald Reagan

"If we ever forget that we're one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under."
- Ronald Reagan

Welcome to a quick what is it Tuesday post.. Look at the picture below and tell me what you think this plant is. It is a pretty plant that prefers rich moist soil and partial shade . It can tolerate direct sunlight but plants grown in shade tend to be larger and more succulent. It is related to mint in appearance, but it is not as invasive and easier to control. A clump-forming herbaceous perennial with heart shaped, deeply veined leaves that are covered with stiff hairs, it grows up to 1-2 feet high. Bluish-white or yellow flowers grow from the axils of the leaves and bloom from May to October. After pollination, long oval brown seeds appear. The leaves should be harvested before the flowering for optimum flavour and fragrance. The plant should be cut back in the fall. Any Ideas yet? The Amish people use this in a lot of their medicines. I have personally used their Ear ache drops made with this and found it to be very soothing and helpful..

This plant is a native to southern Europe and northern Africa and has been cultivated for over 2000 years. It has a long history as a healing herb and was also part of a drink that ensured longevity. The branches were strewn on floors to freshen a room, as mentioned by Shakespeare in "The Merry Wives of Windsor".
The Arabs introduced it as medicinal herb, a tea that was taken for anxiety and depression. It is still known in France today as a remedy for fatigue and headaches. The leaves were rubbed onto beehives to prevent swarming and to encourage the bees to return to the hives. I know the bees love it.. The honey bees here are fat with the nectar they suck from this plant every day.. a big garden spider builds his web from the edge of the planter to the nearest tree every night only to have me knock it down the next day to get to the water sprinkler. The Greek physician Dioscorides wrote about it being used for scorpions stings and insect and dog bites.

Wow.. I sure am glad I grow this plant in my bucket garden.. You can't tell from the picture but these plants are spilling out of a raised box made from four old shelves that were headed for a land fill... I love recycling things into containers for my gardens.. I even have stuff growing in a pair of Dave's old boots...

Let me know you were here by leaving me a comment.. please try and figure out what this plant is that grows so well in my gardens.. Maybe you have an idea for a unique planter for me to make? Maybe I can make it and fill it with this mystery plant.. take a guess if you don't know.. I bet someone out there knows.. is it YOU?! Have a great night!

Happy Birthday! Former Mr. President!

"A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have."

"Government exists to create and preserve conditions in which people can translate their ideas into practical reality. In the best of times, much is lost in translation. But we try."

"We are bound together by the most powerful of all ties, our fervent love for freedom and Independence, which knows no homeland but the human heart."

All from Gerald R. Ford, 1913 - 2006

Ford was born on July 14, 1913 in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He found out when he was 12 that he was adopted by his father. He attended public schools. He attended the University of Michigan. He played on the school's football team and could have become a professional football player. Instead, he decided to go to law school and worked his way through Yale Law School. He received his degree in 1941 and was admitted to the bar.

Father: Leslie Lynch King - Wool merchant and biological father.. Gerald Rudolph Ford, Sr. - Businessman and adoptive father.
Mother: Dorothy Ayer Gardner Ford.
Siblings: Four half brother and two half sisters.
Wife: Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Bloomer - Dancer. She was an advocate of women's rights.
Children: Three sons - Michael Gerald, John Gardner, and Steven Meigs. One daughter - Susan Elizabeth.

Ford briefly practiced law before joining the navy to fight in World War II. In 1943, he was sent to sea on the USS Monterrey in the South Pacific. His ship took part in the recapture of the Philippines. He left the navy as a lieutenant commander in 1946. After the war he went back to practicing law. In 1949, Ford became a U.S. Representative. He was reelected twelve times until 1973 when he became the Vice President under Richard Nixon.

In 1973, Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned from office in order to avoid criminal charges for bribery. According to the 25Th Amendment when there was a vacancy in the vice presidency, the president would nominate and the Senate and House would confirm a new Vice President. Ford was chosen as a moderate. He took office on December 6, 1973. When Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974, Ford became the first individual to be President who was not elected to either the presidency or the vice presidency.

One month after taking over the presidency, Ford pardoned Nixon. This caused a lot of controversy but Ford claimed he did it to save the nation from the prospect of a long, messy, and divisive trial. Ford only served a partial term in office. His pardoning of Nixon was the most controversial action of his presidency.

Ford escaped two assassination attempts, both by women. First on September 5, 1975, Lynette Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, pointed a gun at him but did not fire. She was convicted of attempting to assassinate the president and sentenced to life in prison. The second attempt on Ford's life occurred on September 22, 1975 when Sara Jane Moore fired one shot that was deflected by a bystander. Moore was trying to prove herself to some radical friends with the assassination of the president. She was convicted of attempted assassination and sentenced to life in prison.

Fast and Fun Facts:

~ Ford once worked as a fashion model.

~ Ford is the only president who was employed by the National Park Service. He served as a Yellowstone park ranger in 1936.

~Ford turned down offers to play football for the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions.

~ Gerald Ford attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest level in the Boy Scouts.

~Gerald Ford described himself as "a moderate on domestic issues, a Conservative in fiscal affairs, and a dyed-in-the-wool internationalist."

~In 1942, Ford, along with his girlfriend at that time, Phyllis Brown appeared on the cover of the National Magazine, Cosmopolitan!

I was 15 years old when Gerald Ford became president. I don't recall very much about it. At 15 I had a lot of other "important stuff" to think about.. Like music and boys and big Yank jeans..hanging posters on my walls , writing poems and sneaking a smoke... teenager stuff... We did talk about it at school but mainly from the point of view that Nixon was the very first President to ever resign and Ford was the first person to ever become President without ever running for the office... We weren't sure that was even legal.. we didn't see how it could be... Mama Mildred cussed at the TV and called them all criminal bastards and some other names that I'll just leave out of my blog... I remember hearing Daddy and Mr. Etheridge discussing the fact that President Nixon Said... " I am not a crook!" Daddy thought Nixon had done a lot of good for this country and we should wait and see.. Mr. Etheridge said.. " Just look at him David.. he's got that crooked jaw.. Mary Ellen had him pegged for a crook from the git go!" Mary Ellen being his lovely wife, who he always deferred to.. She also said we would go blind from watching color TV , but that's a different story. Anyway I guess Watergate and who was president didn't matter too much to me at that time. It was years later that I thought about what a mess this country was in when Ford took things over.. The President and his officers having just been caught .. The Vietnam war... I think he did the best he could with what he had been handed.. I know that at the time everyone thought that he was just another Nixon .. The whole country was furious when he pardoned Nixon.. Even Daddy said "Dad Boppit!" ( that was almost cussing for Daddy!) He didn't help matters too much when he gave leniency to the draft dodgers either... Allowing them to come home and do two years of public service instead of being charged.. But I wonder who could have done a better job? I wouldn't want the job of President.. Not then and not now.. I don't know for sure what the job pays.. But I still don't want it... There are regular men who I think could do the job and do a good job of it... They don't want the job either.. I guess it's a job better left to those who have a crooked Jaw..

When President Ford died he was remembered for his fundamental decency and his optimism about what our people can accomplish in the pursuit of ambitious goals, including the exploration of space. He was said to have served his country with tremendous dignity and energy. President Bush proclaimed
Tuesday,January 2, 2007, as a National Day of Mourning for President Ford.

I guess when all is said and done he had served his country well.. Even if he did something crooked and I'm not sure he did, he still did the best he could with what he was handed..

I guess most of life is like that.. some days you're the dog.. some days you're the bone!
Hopefully you'll have more days of being the top Dog and less days of being the bone! Have a great day!

It's Weird Wednesday! Are Y'all ready for this???

"In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they`re still beautiful." ~ Alice Walker

"The celebrity world can be so ugly. Everyone seems to have slept with everyone else and it`s some sort of strange weird cycle. I don`t want to get into that." ~ Eva Mendes

"The weirder you're going to behave, the more normal you should look.
It works in reverse, too.
When I see a kid with three or four rings in his nose,
I know there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about that person."
~ P.J. O'rourke

Howdy! Howdy! and welcome to another weird Wednesday! Actually this whole week as been weird for me. Sunday was the weirdest day I have had in a long while but I'll save that story for another day.. I'm still thinking on some of it and I don't like to tell a story till I'm all done thinking on it.. who knows.. maybe something weird will come to my mind and I'll realize that things weren't exactly like I felt them to be.. That's very unlikely in this case but I guess weirder things have happened.. Now on to the weird questions for today! Are you ready for this?

1) When you walk past mirrors or large windows, what's the first thing you check in your reflection? ~ Wow I don't check.. am I supposed to check? Maybe I should.. Maybe I should in fact act like a weirdo and check every single time I pass a mirror or any surface that reflects me.. I did notice once that my hair was kinda standing weird and I took my hand and smoothed it down as I walked on.. Then I wondered if it was really standing up weird or was it just a shadow.. either way I had already smoothed it down and I just smiled my weird smile and walked on never looking into any other glass... I guess I'll think about that now and every time I pass glass I'll stop and stare at myself.. I'll become a fancy pants weirdo.. see what you have done?

2:) ~ When swimming, if you really need to pee, how likely are you to just go where you are? ~ Do you know how weird it would be if I said well I'll just tinkle right here in this pool .. NOT! that's my pool I'm in and no one better not Pee in my pool.. I know people do it.. I think it's nasty.. get out dry your feet and go to the bathroom.. are you one of those weird pee swimming fools? Who wants to swim in their own or anyone Else's pee? Me and Dave went to the beach Friday and I was having a pretty good time.. I even got in the water for a change.. I don't get in there often because we all know with a gazillion people there someone has peed.. Most likely a lot of them have.. I was swimming along fine until suddenly I saw this thing in the water.. I wasn't sure at first what it was.. I looked at it twice then three times as it floated closer to me.. I was just about to pick it up and toss it into a wave when I realized it was a TURD!.. yes!! a big fat turd.. That was the third time I have seen turds floating in the water at the beach.. see why I don't go in the water at the Beach! I'm not afraid a shark will bite me.. I'm not weird.. I just don't want any ones turd to bump into me.. and if that makes me weird then I will proudly be weird.. Go to the restroom .. don't be weird and use the bathroom in the same water you are swimming in!!! And if I catch you doing that.. you will know just how weird I can be!!!!

3:) ~Have you ever tampered with some one's food? ~ This is a weird question and I actually have a weird answer for it.. I know that everyone will think I am weird from now on but anyway here is the truth.. Once many years ago I worked in a factory.. Every day I carefully packed my lunch in a brown bag.. I always had a sandwich and if I was lucky I might have a bite left over from supper the night before in a separate plate.. I couldn't smoke on that particular job so I always carried gum in my bag too.. There came a time when for what ever weird reason every single day when I would get ready for lunch.. mt bag would be sitting right there on my shelf but when I'd get to the cafeteria all my food would be gone.. what was even weirder was that they would leave all the wrappers from the gum and my sandwich tossed in the bag.. I told my boss and he laughed at me.. I was mad at that.. I tried to catch them and no matter how close I watched they still managed to get my groceries every single day.. Then one of the other girls told me.. feed them something nasty and I hit upon a weird plan... I changed what I brought to lunch over the next week. Every day I brought a chocolate bar. I switched from sticks of gum to chicklets.. I brought my sandwich still but I started adding a little horseradish to the mayo.. I even told everyone that Horseradish was supposed to help you loose weight.. I also started bringing a thermos full of coffee and I sweetened it.. I hated sweet coffee but the thief loved it.. they drank all of it every day too.. Now it really gets weird.. after about a week of this changing I decided the time was right.. That day I brought my chocolate bar.. only it was switched with e-lax.. the generic brand has no writing on it.. it looked just like my candy.. The chicklets I switched with feen-a-mint.. The horseradish in the mayo hid the crushed Epsom salt real good and that coffee was sweetened with syrup of black draught.. every bite was laced with laxative.. I was the last from my group to go to lunch.. I went for my bag and just as I figured it was empty as was my thermos.. I hurriedly ate a pack of crackers and drank some of that weird and nasty machine coffee as I waited to see what would happen next.. I was rared back in the cafeteria when I heard a wail unlike anything I have ever heard before or since.. I ran out just in time to see the woman who worked right along side me grab her butt and wail again.. she would fold over and hold her stomach and then rare back and grab her butt.. there were weird sounds coming from her belly and her behind.. I didn't know rather to laugh or to cry.. I did pray that she wouldn't die.. She didn't die but she was in the hospital for a few days.. I guess I should be sorry.. weirdly I am not.. she stole my lunch for over a year every single day.. if she hadn't been stealing my food she wouldn't have got laxatives.. and the truly weird thing is.. she is the one that told me to feed them something nasty! I would like to add that I could have carried a gold plate after that and NO ONE touched it.. I don't even think they looked at my shelf! The truth of the matter is that No I haven't tampered with any ones food I did however tamper with mine once!

4:) ~ What's the best thing to do right after sex? ~ snuggle ...then sleep.. unless of course you want to talk in which case wake me up if I fall asleep.... I hate these weird sex questions..

5:) What's something that people do in traffic that really annoys you? I could write a book on this.. I think while you are driving you should drive only.. don't look at the picture your child colored in Day care.. don't talk on the phone unless it's an emergency in which case you should pull off the road.. don't try to look at the short skirted lady in the car next to you.. don't read or apply make up.. don't try to see if the farmer down across yonder has planted corn or sun flowers.. in fact be weird and simply DRIVE!

6:) ~ When was the last time you cried and why? ~Why do you need to know this? Are you the tears police or something weird like that? I cried today.. I cried yesterday too.. I might cry again later tonight or maybe I'll wait till tomorrow.. Tears cleanse the soul they say.. I think I have a really clean soul... for years and years I never ever cried.. I was cried out I said.. then like a spring unleashed I started crying again.. I'm weird and I know it.. I might cry now! Sometimes I know why I cry.. sometimes I don't.. does that make me weird?

7:) ~ Do you own a gravy boat? As a matter of fact I do.. in fact I own a couple of them.. y'all know I'm weird and have all kinds of strange items here.. I am surprised that any one cares though.. I am also surprised that anyone still knows what a gravy boat is.. and for those of you who don't know it's a short and long pitcher that holds gravy on the table.. the old time ladies wouldn't be caught dead with gravy in just a bowl.. they were weird like that.. Fancy.. now we never all sit down together so the table manners and the gravy boats.. are getting tossed..

8:) ~ Among your friends, which would you choose as the next Pope? ~ Oh Please!!! Now you are really being weird.. You don't know any of my friends do you?.. I don't even think any of them are Catholic.. Do you have to be Catholic to be the Pope?.. wouldn't it be weird to have a Pope that wasn't Catholic? I am just laughing here..I can't really think of one of my friends who could be Pope.. I think you have to be Catholic and even if not then you have to be like a good person and not a big sinner... You really don't think I have a friend like that do you?
I mean we don't go around killing people or stealing or anything bad... but the Pope?? Can the Pope curse? Most of my friends Curse... Doesn't the Pope have to be a virgin? I don't know any of those.. at least not any grown ones.. And I'm almost sure the Pope can't have ever been drinking... I guess my Friend Frank could be the closest thing to the Pope that I know.. He's a Preacher and a Good man.. and if he ever did any of those other things .. he left them behind long ago when he gave his life to God.. My brother David would be next in line after Frank of the people I know.... Neither of them are Catholic but you said of my friends and If I had to choose those two would be the top two on my list if they had to come from my friends.... That was a weird question because we all know that the Pope has to be Catholic..

That's it for tonight.. That's all of the weird questions and my weird answers for this week.. I hope you had a laugh.. Maybe you even learned something.. how weird would that be!??
I'm still laughing at one of my friends being the Pope.. I gotta tell y'all that weird as it sounds I am also laughing at the memory of the thief who ate my food.. I know I should be sorry.. and I am sorry she was sick... but I guess as weird as it sounds I made her a better person because I'd bet you money she has never stolen food again! I promise that you would have laughed too... OK OK I'm weird.. I admit it!

Speaking of weird.. yesterday I was going to pay my cell phone bill and I passed a guy holding a sign.. when I came out of the end of the road he waved it in my direction.. It said ~ Homeless Please help!! ~ Now it didn't say he would work for food or anything like that.. I with all my weirdness was about to tell Dave to stop when Dave.. Lord bless Him.. said.. " If he's homeless and needs help where did he get cigarettes?" Then taking a good look at him I realized that he had expensive; bottled; enriched with vitamins; water sitting by his feet.. His feet were wearing Sketches shoes and he was puffing away. He also had a couple of food bags by his chair.. I really wanted to help and yet I had to wonder if he really was homeless. And if he was homeless why wasn't he at a Church somewhere seeking help instead in the intersection in front of the Wal-mart? Am I weird or was he just scamming?? I am still worried about him he was young and pitiful looking.. Praying for him can't hurt.. Maybe you will pray for him too! Have a great Night! Watch out for the weirdo's!

Happy Tuesday!! .. Who knows what we have here???

"If you can't stand the heat you better get out of the kitchen." ~ Harry S Truman

"I hope we can get back to what I call the kitchen table. Everyday issues that people are really worried about and focused on." ~ Dick Gephardt

"Everyone is kneaded out of the same dough but not baked in the same oven."
~Yiddish Proverb

"What's a soup kitchen?" ~ Paris Hilton

Hello and Happy Tuesday to everyone! Are you ready to play along in the "What is it?" game? This week I am taking it easy on you all I will tell you that everything here is considered a kitchen item... I think most people will know what everything here is and even if you might not know what it's called you can probably make a pretty good guess as to what it was used for. How many of today's items can you identify?

1:) This first one doesn't actually belong to me.. It belongs to My oldest sister Trudy.. She also collects all the vintage kitchenware and has had this wonder for a very long time.. We have often taken guesses as to what it is and how we would use it....this item consists of a small metal basket on the bottom. It looks like a tin can filled with holes.. The top piece is a disk and when you hold it by the handles and squeeze the two together the disk goes down inside the basket.. first of all do you know what it is called and secondly.. what did the old timers use it for?

2:) I personally have always thought this was a cheese slicer and a pie crust edge maker.. I was wrong.... This vintage kitchen tool actually had two uses. Do you know what they were? Dave and I had the whole bucket out looking them over this morning.. Yes I have a bucket of old kitchen ware.... and we finally decided that we better look them all up.. I would hate to steer anyone in the wrong direction in the important matter of vintage kitchen ware. I mean what if I had you slicing something with an edger..

3:) This one is pretty easy I think.. I knew what this one was.. It has two metal parts that fit together and slide into the handle.. one can be removed but the other can not. If I had to guess I'd say that was for cleaning purposes.. After all one does have to clean their kitchen ware at times. What would you use this for? I can think of a few things it could be used for even in today's times.. But what is it really?

4:) let me tell you that this one isn't quiet as old as the others. In fact I drew this shape and My Dear Husband cut it out for me.. Mine is made of wood.. I had seen one in an old magazine and I wanted one of my own. I painted it to look like the old one I had seen. I use it quiet a lot while cooking.. It has a small eye so that it can hang close to where it will be used... What in the world is it? what is it used for?

5:) This one everyone should get.. it is so very easy.. this one was used back in the day when we couldn't buy fancy packaged food. Frozen foods were unheard of back then.. Ladies worked very hard to make their food stand out.. all well equipped kitchens had one of these.. What is it for? What is it called?

6:)This is my newest of all of my Kitchen items collection. Dave found this wonder at the Flea Market Saturday when I had to work.. He knew I would like it and he paid a few cents for it and proudly brought it home to me.. Of course I looked at him and said.. "What is it?" and of course he didn't know. It has a tip that has to be on a solid surface for it to work. When it is stood on the tip and you press down on the handle the little wire hoops spin around and around as the handle slides down the braided handle.. I love it.. Now that I know what it is for I love it even more... I have already used it.. It is perfect for what it was made for.. Do you know what it is?

I hope you will all make some guesses about today's vintage kitchenware items.. I have quiet a collection of them. Many of them we just look at and wonder what they could be for.. A few years ago I looked the whole town over for a corer so I could use it in canning pears.. My mama assured me that it would make my job easier.. I wasn't even sure what they looked like so after looking them up I just got down my bucket and got one from the old junk collection.. She was right.. with my old corer I was able to quickly get the cores out of my pears and was proud when they looked as good as the pears we eat from a can.

I will warn you though that the Internet says we should not use vintage kitchen ware because we cannot know what was used in the paint or what alloys were used in the metal parts. I always wash mine in a bleach solution prior too and after I use them since wood can harbor bacteria... I use mine very rarely because I~ like most women~ own all the new fangled fancy kitchen items.. But I will always love and collect the vintage kitchenware too. Have a great Tuesday!!

It's Weird Wednesday!! Are you ready to laugh?

"He had that rare weird electricity about him - that extremely wild and heavy presence that you only see in a person who has abandoned all hope of ever behaving normally. "
~ Hunter S. Thompson

"A man isn't poor if he can still laugh." ~ Raymond Hitchcock

"You get weird and unsettling behavior in the country." ~ Sara Paretsky

Hi and welcome to weird Wednesday and it's weird questions... I managed to answer eight questions today without feeling to overwhelmingly weird... for some weird reason the web sight that I usually get my questions from hadn't posted any questions today so I had to get these from a couple of other places.. If you have a question.. either weird or even just plain.. I will be glad to answer it on a Wednesday.. Just ask me in a comment and I'll get back to you with my weird answer..

Now on to the wildly weird questions for today!

1:) What sin do you most enjoy committing? ~ Wow! I cold say so many things in response to this question... who gets to decide that it's a sin?.. can we vote to decide rather or not it's a sin?... How do we know what's a sin for you is automatically a sin for me? .. what if I don't know it's a sin?.. Are sins supposed to be enjoyable? They didn't teach me that in Sunday School.. there they said sin was all bad and made you feel sick inside.. I guess if I have to admit to having a sin ... and I'm still not convinced that I do.. I will say eating.. Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins and that is the act of over indulging.. I actually think that could mean over indulging in anything pleasurable and not just food... OK I'll say eating too much.. No way I have time to go into all the rest of my sins on this blog.. and as always I'm sure my kids would rather not know! They would think I was weird if they knew I had sins.. Mom's don't supposed to have sins..

2:) Would you rather be rich and ugly, or Poor and good looking? OK what's up with this? Something weird is going on... I'm poor and ugly and that's not a choice... I'm a tiny bit fluffy too (as in Fat!) and that's not a choice either.. I don't want to be rich or especially good looking.. I'd like to have enough money to live without worrying rather or not the light bill gets paid.. I'd like to be able someday to go grocery shopping and fill two carts and not add it up as I go along...
( maybe I'll fill three and not shop again for a long long time!) Hold on a minute.... I guess I'd rather be poor and ugly since that's what I already am.. and money brings problems I don't need and if I was a beauty queen I might have a stalker or something weird like that.. Can I mix the choices up and just be plain old weird me? .. Good!!!! that's what I want to be!

3:) When was the best time, or what was the best experience, you've had with a sibling? Any time I am with a sibling is usually good times.... I like one on one time with them talking or going for a long walk... I love going hill sliding at what used to be rairoad tracks.. I love it when we play games together at family gatherings.. I am the very; very; all time very; best game maker upper.. Weird huh? who woulda thought?... But it's true.. I make up games and they play them like they are real games.. I once had kids wearing plastic shower caps covered with shaving cream and other kids throwing pretzels at them... no body thought it was weird.. they played and danced and laughed as if it wasn't weird at all.. the winner was who had the most pretzels on their head.. I know it was soooo weird.. I have made them hop like rabbits with a huge beach ball between their legs and have made them sew a whole line of folks together with a big wooden needle.. I have had them hop with a clothes pen on the toe of their shoe and have seen grown men crawl with a child holding their feet.. The picture is of all the nieces and nephews trying to get a chunk of bubble gum from under a pile of whipped topping with no hands.. the entire team had to have a two inch bubble for that team to win.. we had so much fun.....Wow.. I want to make up some new weird games right now.. I love all seven of my siblings... I love their spouses and their children and grandchildren... all times with them are good times.. It would just be way to weird to choose one time and say it was best.

4:) What would it take for you to reconcile with your greatest enemy? call me weird if you want to but there is no reconciliation if you are on my greatest enemy list... you three know who you are.. don't be weird and pretend you haven't done anything... In all honesty I wouldn't really say I have enemies.. at least none that I actually know of.. I'm a great person though and that is usually enough to cause someone to hate you.... and if I do have one or two (three!) then they should know ahead of time that I will get even.. I know.. I'm weird!

5:) What would your heaven be like? Heaven will have flowers and animals.. chickens I guess and dogs and birds of all kinds.. and lots of fish to look at moving in the crystal blue waters.. We will have sand for castles and gentle waves to wash them away each night so that we can build more the next morning as the new sun rises.. There will be fruits and nuts and vegetables to eat .. anytime you are hungry.. I guess I'd say a paradise.. a beautiful garden.. with all our family and friends in their OWN gardens down the beach from mine.. I won't mind if Dave lives in my garden but everyone else needs to plan on having there own.. It would be way to weird for us all to live in the same place again.. Heaven is not weird.. we have our own space there... you can visit my garden and even play in my sand but after that you have to go home to your own beach... I get to decide.. the question said MY HEAVEN...

6:) Do you feel that children should be sheltered from unhappiness? I do.... I will even give you a for instance.. Right now there are three children who are being talked about and gossiped over and there are some things being told that will shake their whole existence to the very core.. Their lives have been weird by most of our standards already and now even who they are and where they came from is being questioned and talked about as if it really matters... I am talking about the three children who knew Michael Jackson as their Dad.. I am sick of all the weird things being said and the speculation over who had them and who did what with whom and where.. These kids just know their Father died.. that's bad enough with out all the weird stuff being said.. Who cares if they were conceived in a clinic or in the backseat of a Cadillac... and why does it matter now.. He was weird.. we all know that.. but still his kids deserve some dignity and they deserve to have some privacy... who's to say that we might have been weird too if every step we took we had to watch for someone with a camera.... I'm weird and no one cares... the catch is that I'm not rich and famous and weird.. then someone would care.. then they would take bets on who my kids belonged too and how much I paid to have someone else have them.. and guess what... in the end.. it still wouldn't matter..

7:) What's one of the simple pleasures in your life? Holding Dave's hand... it's really his habit.. I was never in to the whole weird hand holding thing until I met him.. he will be walking beside you and just reach out and take your hand... it is very comforting and peaceful to walk along holding hands with someone you love... he will take your hand as you walk on the beach or in the woods or even as you walk across the parking lot into Walmart... I used to think it was weird but I guess either it got less weird or I got more weird because now I just think it's a wonderful simple pleasure! It's great to drink coffee with him in the chicken garden too.. Y'all should have been with us yesterday as we chased young hens and then had one crow at us.. it's weird when what you thought was a hen crows at you.. Yesterday was great escape day here.. but that's a story for another day... I guess yesterday was weird Tuesday!...

8:) If you went to a beach and it turned out to be a nude beach, would you stay and go swimming? Would you swim nude? I'm not sure.. it depends on how many weirdo's there were already swimming around naked and their parts bobbing or floating around.. does one's parts float and bob? It would be weird to stay and be the only person there with clothes on but it would be oh so much weirder to be swimming naked with people you don't know.. I might stay long enough to see what naked swimming looked like.. I am not being weird.. I'm being honest.. you know good and well that if you walked on a beach and then discovered that the people there were naked you would look a tiny little bit too.. I might not have my glasses on and then I might not even realize they were naked unless one walked right up to me.. I'm not weird I'm blind without my glasses.. You can say I'm weird but deep down you know you would stay a little while too.. who knows maybe you just thought they were naked... maybe they were changing or something..

Ok there ya go with my weird questions for today! Do you have a weird question that you would like to ask me? I will give you my weird answer if you will post your question in the comments section.. I will answer any questions you ask.. I might not give the answer you expected though! I am weird like that sometimes... I hope that not too many weird things happened today.. Have a great Wednesday!
