Three Things I'll Share for Thursday!
"If you can't stand solitude, perhaps others find you boring as well."
~ Mark Twain
"If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn't sit for a month." ~ Theodore Roosevelt
######################################################
It is Thursday and that usually means I share three things with you.. I could share some of my unwelcome .. boring.. most likely mean and nasty.. thoughts right now or I could just let my poetry speak for itself tonight.. I could really do both.. I guess.. I do try and put a little of myself into my writing.. You can't help it really it just flows from you right into the pen and then before you know it.. there it is.. just what you hadn't meant to say.. in black and white.. on the other hand.. don't be fooled .. I think most of us usually say exactly what we mean.. I hope that tonight.. what ever burdens you bear.. that you will find rest.. Have a great night!

From the Ashes
warned you..
or at least I tried..
Won't say I told ya though..
wouldn't listen..
they don't know..
even if they knew.. they don't..
trust.. the first thing to go..
last thing to die.. trusted to the end.. you did
nothing wrong with trust.. did it myself once..
won't catch me out there again.. you trust yourself..
hush now.. freedom brings a stiff price..
you paid yours and gave some for good measure..
I say time served..
and served well from what I saw..
but you let gones stay gones.. lay down the fans..
Let the roaring flames lie still..
for down is not out.. and out is not over..
Life is hope..and hope holds on when all else has given in..
And be reminded... every phoenix that hopes to fly..
must first rise up from the ashes...

A Moody Monday.. Whimsical Day!

reading the definition of whimsical I imagined a picture of myself fitting the word perfectly.. I would also include photo's of elves and fairy god mothers and pumpkin carriages.. and knights in shining armor.. but I am all out of photo's of those things at the moment..and so my search
I am betting that for this one special moment in time.. this young man could almost imagine himself to have been a knight... dancing with a beautiful birthday princess....we all know there is nothing more magical than a candle lit dance at your sweet sixteen party.. trees glittering with tiny white lights...and a balloon covered dance floor... very whimsical and magical indeed!!...
and perfect for a special sweet sixteen party.. Happy Birthday Lindsay!!
I do believe that they think they can fly...
Judging by the image on the cape I am guessing Grayson to be Spiderman... I do wonder though... what hero would Reuben be?? Life is hard.. we work and work and fight daily to make ends meet.. sometimes we need a little whimsy.. a little absurd.. a little fun.. if the whimsical comes your way.. even if just for a minute.. enjoy it! Step away from the daily grind and enjoy a moment of pure whimsical fun.. Have a wonderful day!

One word.. One minute... Do you Care??
"The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government. "- Thomas Jefferson
"If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded."
- Maya Angelou
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been back to the One Word sight again.. I have always liked words.. I like to find different ways to say what each word says.. I like to use words so that each one says a lot.. I like word lists and word prompts.. I like to twist words and turn words and use words in ever which way you can... I think I will be a regular at the One Word sight... I will race the timer to try and write as much as I can of the feelings I get from each word that they offer... yes I will race the timer..
..tonight their word is caring..
I try everyday to be caring....I had a lot more to say but the little thing popped up and said TIME!! Just the one word and so many images poured into my head.. I thought Of Nelma~ ( My Late Mother-In-Law... From my first Marriage~) and how much care she needed for a time.. my wonderful friend.. I cared for her.. I loved her.. I still love her.. I miss her very much!
Emily such a sick little girl..the scariest word I ever heard.. cancer...who knew a baby could be born with cancer?.. a hospital far from home...so many wonderful..caring doctors.. I wouldn't have her without them and I would have lost it so many times had they not been a "Family" caring group.. they cared for me so that I could care for her..seeing me and my life...fall apart
and caring enough to help me gather the pieces back into one shaky pile... Trudy caring enough to see that I never faced the treatments alone ...on the road before sunrise... getting home way after dark.... sharing one hot-dog and a diet coke while we waited for hours and hours.. whispering about the hair styles of the nurses and voting on which Doctor was better looking.. we didn't really care.. she had Danny and I had a divorce.. but it helped pass the long dreary hours...
My parents Caring for my boys while I was ..otherwise engaged.. at the hospital with Emily... My nights there lonely and scared.. My Daddy would drive Anthony and Cooper there and let me sit in the lobby with Cooper for a break.. Anthony caring for Emily.. reading to her inside the plastic bubble... sitting crouched into the tiny space.. uncaring that he would be stiff and cramped by the time my break was over.... Cooper hopping and skipping from end to end of the long lobby..uncaring that he was too loud... running up to strangers and saying "How ya -ana" ..( his version of How are ya?) with a big ..blue eyed.. smile.. me and Daddy laughing when we overheard a couple discussing where we "foreigners" might be from... Cooper too young to understand the break he gave me.. Daddy.. Mama.. and Anthony caring enough to make sure I got it.. Cooper finally wearing out and crawling into my lap for me to sing Kumbaya to him....before he went "home" to Grana's house....He cried when I finally brought him back home with me.. I said I didn't care.. Grateful for the care-taking they had done for so long.. I said I didn't care....
seeking a caring .. dependable..and loving person... I found Dave and his two crew... I have been caring for them for so long.. he has cared for me so many times as well.... caring for a very sick me.. twice.. caring for my kids and his kids and the family's kids and the Not his family's kids...thinking I married him... I married a crowd who would need many different kinds of care.... care for years and years.. sister and brothers and a wonderful Mom too.. even a wife-in-law to share cares with at times.. how can we not? ...we have two children together.. she and I...
Caring for so many different ones through the years...children.. friends.. family.. strangers.. always caring.. caring and giving every way I can..... some for a short time.. some for a life time.. doing all I can and many times wishing I could do more.. do something.. do anything.. but caring when no one else did sometimes..
sometimes caring isn't enough.. I would quit if I could.. I quit yesterday and today and many many days.. I quit caring!!! I refuse to care!! I don't care.. I won't care... I mean it!! I do!
But then the little timer said.... finish your sentence you are done!!! ...Then it said.. enter your name NOW!! ..YOU ARE DONE!!! ...so I didn't really get done.. but what it did let me say is below..
I know this is sorta rambling along.. but these are my thoughts on caring.. you could always go there and do your own.. in fact I suggest that you do!
Have a wonderful night!
One Word~ 10-17-2009
caring.....
.. loving.. helpful..trying as hard as I can and it's not enough to be caring.... sometimes it takes more than that.. They don't want you to care.. caring gets you in trouble sometimes. You care... and they say " It's always me.. I can't do nothing right".. like you shouldn't care.. shouldn't say why was that or what's up with this???.. OK.. today I quit caring.....well I tried to at least......OK! I can't stop caring!!
If I had a Hammer... I'd build ...build ..build!
~ Benjamin Franklinq
"Visualize this thing that you want, see it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blue print, and begin to build." ~ Robert Collier
"We build too many walls and not enough bridges. " ~ Isaac Newton
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The theme for this weeks Heads or Tails on Tuesday is "Build"... It is heads so I am allowed to choose what I post.. I can choose a poem or a short story or some thoughts of my own or even a photo.. Being that this week it is heads I can choose.. If it was tails I would have to do a more specific task and would likely be given instructions on exactly what to post...I am a great builder.. When I was a little girl I would build elaborate playhouses with many rooms.. they didn't have real walls but were instead marked out with sticks driven into the ground and then wrapped with string.. I Loved my string playhouses.. We even built one at My grandma's house in the woods.. Years later I went back there and found some of the sticks and strings still there.. the remains of my childhood playhouse still hidden in the woods.... I even picked up two pieces of a tea set that I must have abandoned there.. I was a great string playhouse builder....
When Anthony was a child he loved to climb trees.. He and I would build him a tree house everywhere we lived.. we once were so excited about our building that we forgot to leave a way down.. we covered the whole floor with no hole to go back through to get out of the tree.. we also didn't had a claw hammer.. I had to lower him over the side and to the ground.. he ran to get help from the neighbor.. they came laughing and rolling along with a hammer that would pull nails out.. It had been dark for nearly an hour before I was back on the ground....
When I lived in the trailer park I hated that people just walked straight through your yard.. I tried to plant a few flowers to set my space apart...but the kids rode right over them with their bikes.. I yelled at them and they yelled back.. "It's free space!" Oh NO!!! I was not living in free space.. I had to build a fence... Talking to the landlord I was told that I couldn't actually erect a fence.. I could mark my line with string and could in fact plant flowers as long as I understood that they stayed even after I went... I didn't care.. seeds were cheap at the dollar store and I had to build.. I didn't own a hammer back then.. I owned a few hammer heads but somehow the
handle kept getting broke out of them.. I guess I used them too much.. I called my brother David and he promised to bring me a hammer when he brought his kids the next morning.. They were with me every day for the summer.. along with all the other nieces and nephews who's parents worked.. I needed my fence.. I could already imagine that it would help keep them in my yard and other kids out!!
Daylight saw me standing with my back pressed tight against my own trailer.. I wanted to be fair with the guy who lived in front of me.. I didn't want to take any of his space either.. I just didn't want his grill and table in my part of the space between us.. I needed my space for flowers and some buckets of Veggies.. I walked and counted the steps from my house to his.. Next I turned around and walked back half of those steps..Right there I drove down a stick.. a fat round stick.. it was a fence post .. it had to be sturdy.... I carefully measured up and down the line between he and I.. I had to get some of the neighbor kids to help me as we shoved his big picnic table back onto his own space.. I could tell the kids were thinking I was nuts.. One even said that they could step right over a string fence.. I gave him one of my "Oh NO you Didn't!" looks.. he ran and in a few minutes came back with some longer and stronger posts.. With in a few minutes I had half of the trailer park kids out there helping me measure and drive in sticks for my fence.. we went around all three sides of the small lot.. the side that edged the road would be left open on the back side and would turn and go up a walkway to the door on the front side.. the end would be left unfenced as a place to park.. We finished the fence by wrapping and stringing some yellow string in three rows.. then we toted some buckets of dirt out there and sat them along the "fence".. next we planted flower seeds in the rich black dirt.. we would have flowers and veggies in Our space in just s few weeks.. Not a single soul ever stepped over my string fence.. One young fellow started to once and I yelled at him not to climb my fence.. "come on up the "sidewalk" like normal folks" .. There really was no sidewalk.. just a path between some string fences.. But his Mama had sent him to borrow some eggs and he must have decided to do what the crazy lady asked.. he hurried around the string fence and came to the door to knock politely... After he went home ..his Mom.. Baybay.. came over to see my new fence.. she said everyone was talking about it.. she acted like it was a real honest to goodness fence.. Before dark that night Baybay had built a string fence between her and the woman who lived in front of her.. with in a month there were string fences all over the trailer park..
I had a hammer for a while when I moved here.. Me and the kids built a fire pit ..and two tree houses....and fences... yes real fences with post and boards.. I think Dave or maybe one of the kids.. threw my hammer away..
I don't build much any more.. Now I say Dave we need to build and he does all the work.. we have built tree houses and birdhouses and table and benches.... he will build what ever I ask for pretty much.. Last week I said Dave we need to build a pantry.. And he did.. this week I have said we need to build three different times.. he has so far this week built two chicken pens and tomorrow will finish a pig pen between the two .. it will be our new pig and chicken combo pen design..
I am lucky to have a man that will build.. he does frown on sting fences but other than that he will get the hammer and give it his best shot... Have a great day!

Tuesday! I don't know what those are... Do You??
"You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough." - Joe Lewis
Today since they are so easy I am asking what these TWO things are..
#1~ Do you know what I am? ~ yes I am edible.. I don't grow on a tree but I do grow under one sometimes... I Can be prepared Grilled, Baked, Broiled, boiled or Fried. I have even been stuffed.. I am mentioned in the Bible... I can be frozen or canned.. By products of me have been used in crafts and in making jewelry.. someone knows exactly what I am.. give it a guess.. Maybe that someone is you!

Update~ I am not a pineapple nor a tuber.. I am not a pepper..It's a handsome quail in the hand of a handsome male.. I personally think a quail has a beautiful feather pattern .. No one guessed this one..
Update~ I am not a wind chime or a hanging dangling thing.. I am the center of a lovely lily that makes it's home in the homemade bucket jungle.. My smell is as beautiful as my flower... Phoebe was right about me.. Maybe she recognized me from the jungle?
Today since they are so very easy I have given you two things to guess. I bet that someone will guess them both very quickly.. I think they are both easy.. what do you think they are?... give it a guess.. You might be right.. Please leave me a comment.. Check back tomorrow for the correct answer... Have a wonderful day!

Well~ Surprise ME!
"A sudden bold and unexpected question doth many times surprise a man and lay him open."
~ Francis Bacon
"A true leader always keeps an element of surprise up his sleeve, which others cannot grasp but which keeps his public excited and breathless. " ~ Charles de Gaulle
Today I was pleasantly surprised to be given the Loyalty award By the great folks over at West Virginia Backroads..Loyalty is something that is rare these days.. I have a few loyal friends.. I am loyal to more people than I feel are loyal to me.. I am not complaining; I just face the facts about how life really is.. People are too busy and too caught up in their own dramatic lives to really give more than a passing thought of the lives of other people.. They don't mean to discard our lives and problems.. it's just that they have so many of their own.. If you have a loyal friend you should count yourself very lucky...
“An ounce of loyalty is worth a pound of cleverness.”~ Elbert Hubbard
“When we are debating an issue, loyalty means giving me your honest opinion, whether you think I'll like it or not. Disagreement, at this stage, stimulates me. But once a decision has been made, the debate ends. From that point on, loyalty means executing the decision as if it were your own.”~ Colin Powell
“Lack of loyalty is one of the major causes of failure in every walk of life” ~ Napoleon Hill
Looking for Loyalty quotes I found a great many of them.. It seems that almost everyone worth quoting has at least one loyalty quote.. From Anne Landers to Winston Churchill to Stephen King.. each has said something quotable about loyalty..
The dictionary describes Loyalty as follows~
| 1. | the state or quality of being loyal; faithfulness to commitments or obligations. |
| 2. | faithful adherence to a sovereign, government, leader, cause, etc. |
| 3. | an example or instance of faithfulness, adherence, or the like: . |
Following these guidelines I do know a few people who I would consider loyal.. I know or know the families of a few soldiers fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan right now.. to me that is one of the ultimate forms or loyalty to this country.. Actually I think any military personnel has to have that same loyalty as they could be called on to die for the rest of us at any time.. I know people who are loyal to their jobs and to their clubs or organizations.. I do my best to be loyal to my family and friends.. and to my Poetry group.. I thank everyone who is loyal to reading this blog and sharing my wild ideas and laughter! With that said I now pass tthis award to the following people~
1~) The wonderful folks over at Split rock- I love their Llamas
http://splitrockranchllamas.blogspot.com/
2~) To the great folks over at the Curly Cats - I love the cat tales! http://daisythecurlycat.blogspot.com/
3~) To A Lil enchanted- I love your outlook on life and things that go bump in the night! http://alilenchanted.blogspot.com/
4~) To Pj's Prose- I think we must be twins.. I thank you for you loyalty! http://pjtangel.blogspot.com/
5~)I Love the recipes anf great food at Cinnamon and Spice! http://cinnamonspiceandeverythingnice.blogspot.com/
I could think of another hundred blogs who each and all deserve this award.. I know I'm only allowed five but at least I know that each of these will choose five more and so on and so on.. eventually all of my choices will have been covered! Please visit these sights.. I am sure you will become loyal fans of them just as I have! Have a wonderful day!

Just another Thursday!
"Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher 'standard of living' is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free. For us of the minority, the opportunity to see geese is more important that television."~ Aldo Leopold
"Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth or the only truth."
~Charles Anderson Dana
It's Thursday and it has been a great day even into the night.. Tonight you are getting three quick poems.. please enjoy!!
Patsy
1:} ~ a septolet is described as a short poem of seven lines.... having a total of fourteen words...having a break between two parts...the two parts deal with the same though.. each creating an image and the combined two create an image.
Wild Horses ~ {a septolet}
beautiful bangtail
spirit untamed
racing tumbleweeds
thundering
across mesas
stallions wrestle
under night skies...
written by: Patricia Sawyer

2:} ~Another septolet... much harder to write than you know.. with only being allowed 14 words..
each word has to say a mouthful!
In the Swamp!
Tiny
Woven basket
Hidden
In creek side willows.
Beautiful Hummers
Feast
On wildflower Nectar.

3:} ~ and finally just one more short poem.. Do you have nightmares? I often do.. they come creeping into my sleep...calling for me...
Nightmares~
Night after Night as
I try to enjoy slumber
Groans and moans and
Howling stomping spirits
Torment. Keeping me awake.
Most don't intend to frighten
All lost souls searching. hoping
Reaching out from the shadows
Each wanting to step into the light
Soar into paradise. A Nightmare no more!

Welcome to Wednesday and it's Weirdness!

"For the first time, the weird and the stupid and the coarse are becoming our cultural norms, even our cultural ideal. "
~ Carl Bernstein
"I go through major crises every few months, but then I have great peaks of belief and creativity. I'm a weird kind of animal. " ~ Brian May
"I had to perform at the White House for the president, That's always kind of a weird set to try to put together." ~ Jeff Foxworthy
Hi and welcome to my Wednesday. It was pretty normal for a Wednesday. I guess Y'all know by now that I'm just weird. Wednesdays are always the perfect day for weird. Smack in the middle of the week.. Not quiet as bad as Mondays and not nearly as great as Friday! I did have one great piece of news early this morning.. GO!! ME!! I finally graduated from the on-line Haiku class!! GO!! ME again!!! And the Weird thing was.. I only had to do this last assignment ONCE! Every single other one I have had to write then re-write then maybe re-word because he didn't like a word.. So how weird is it that I only had to do this one ONCE?? Super weird is what! Weirder than that? Yes! it gets weirder than that.. The instructor recommends that I take the Advanced study of Haiku because I am " Brilliant and truly talented!" Wow.. I was honored.. But I'm no where near weird enough to sign up for that class. It has taken me way to long and way to many re-writes to graduate from the first one! I can't decide rather it was just me being weird or rather that whole class was weird! Of course some folks think most Haiku is weird.. OK on to the truly weird questions for this week!
1:)~ Have you ever left a restaurant without paying the bill?~ Well does it make me weird if I say I have wanted to? In fact a few times I have really wanted to walk out and not pay for the food because the service was so bad.. Once we had a drunk or drugged but either way weird waitress come running to our table and ask us "WHO HOLLERED FOR POPCORN?" we all looked at each other and said "No One!" She went away and in a few minutes was back leaning over the Table and whispering in my ear... " Crazy Bitch don't you holler for POPCORN not nerry nother time!" When she walked off I told Dave what she said and then with a smile here she comes with His and all of the kids a steaming plate of food..Nothing at all for me! She pranced off back to the kitchen as if we were all eating.. I didn't even have a glass of tea.. Then I noticed her at the bar whispering to several men and they turned and gave me weird looks.. One even said he had a cure for weirdo's like that one over there in the corner.. I glanced around just to make sure I really was the weirdo in the corner! I was!!! Finally she came over and asked Dave... weirdly ignoring me as if I wasn't there.. if everything was fine.. He told her that his food was OK and the kids nodded to say theirs was too.. He asked where my food was being that they were almost through eating.. She said "who's food?" .. I pinched me to be sure I was real.. I pinched Dave so he would know I was real.. Finally I told him "go pay for what Y'all ate and lets get out of here" .. I was really feeling weird by then.. As we walked across the parking lot talking she came running out the door like a wild woman screaming and cussing at us and asked if I needed to borrow her pen.. without even looking up I answered "no thanks I have the number memorized" ... I guess she could read lips and saw me saying I would call the main office.. That was the weirdest restaurant experience I ever had.. But Dave paid for the food and in fact even paid for the food I had ordered but didn't eat.. We had another weird night in the very same place a few years later with a different waitress.. Call me weird but I don't eat there any more! They hire weirdo's!
2:)~ Have you ever taken
3:~On a scale of 1 to 10, how gullible of a person would you say you are?~ You're kidding right? Or you really don't know me.. or You are just plain weird.. You can't fool an old Fool and I am an old fool! Were you planning on tricking me out of my money? That would be weird since I don't have any... Many people have thought they had me fooled.. Many have given it their very best shot.. a few (very few!) Have even come close.. But I am a suspicious person.. I always expect the weird and unexpected to jump out at any time.. I am always on the alert. I am not gullible.. I am weird like that. I believe nothing I hear and only half of what I see..Proof is what I wait for.. I have though let people.. especially my kids.. think they had this old weird lady fooled.. It is always interesting, as well as delightfully weird, to see just how far a person will go when they try their best to fool an old fool! Remember .. you can't dog a dog; trick a trickster; nor fool an old fool!
4:)~ Do you ever wish you were someone else? ~ I guess there have been times in my life that I didn't want to be me.. I think we have all had those weird "IT SUCKS TO BE ME!!" days. I have had way more that what I think is my share of those weird days. At the time I never thought about wishing to be any one else..Who could I have been? I have wished to have a little more money at times.. I have wished my children weren't sick or wished I wasn't single ( Dave fixed that wish!!!) I wonder who I should have wished to be.. I wouldn't wish to be anyone that didn't have my kids and my weird talents.. I don't know anyone at all like me.. well actually I do know one other person a little like me.. she is crazy as I am.. But she doesn't have my kids or my weird talents.. her life has been filled with the it sucks to be me days too.. I guess I'm weird but I'll just be grateful that not all days suck to be me and move on to another weird question!!
5:)~How often, on average, do you find yourself thinking about sex per day?~ Call me weird but I knew somehow y'all would sneak a sex question in here.. Is that all you think about? How do you (whoever you are weirdo!) have time to make up questions for the rest of us when all you think about is our sex lives.. Is your own life so boring? Are you having one of those ..IT SUCKS TO BE YOU!.. days? I will tell you that yes I think about sex.. I have fond memories of sex even.. I am a normal woman.. It would be weird if sex didn't cross my mind.. I just don't let it sit and rest there..Now is one of those times I should wish to be someone else! Why do you need to know about how often I think of sex? Are you a weirdo? Are you making a documentary about the sex lives and thoughts of old fools?? NO?? well when you are call me and I'll star in it.. until then.. I think about sex sometimes.. I have never counted how many times a day or how many days apart or any of those things.. I'm weird.. that's my story and I'm sticking to it..
6:)~ Did your parents know when you became sexually active? How did they find out? ~ I have got to tell you that I am laughing at this weird question.. I got married the first time when I was 16 years old.. I was not allowed to date other than to ride to Church with him and even then we usually had one of the younger siblings along.. so Yea.. I'm pretty sure My parents knew I had become sexually active.... As for how they found out.. they were at my wedding..They had eight kids.. they were aware of sex or I'm almost sure they were!!!! I'll even go out on a limb and say that they figured I would have sex on my wedding night and maybe even a few times after that.. Times were different back then.. People were old fashioned... Kids today call us weird.. Back then most young people didn't become sexually active.. they became Married.. and if they did get the two confused and became the wrong one first.. then down came the shot gun and someone had a shot gun wedding.. The old people didn't talk about sex to us kids.. Our family Doctor asked me if I knew what I was supposed to do when I got married.. I said.." yes Sir.. I'm supposed to cook and keep a clean house!.. I'll do my best to be a good wife!" I find it weird now but he didn't tell me any different.. maybe next time I see him I'll kick him in his wrinkled old butt! Weird old fart had to know I didn't have a clue.. Man times have changed.. I guess it's weird just how much things have changed even since I was a teen...Needless to say.. I wasn't quiet so gullible the second (and final!!!) time I got married.. I do still cook and keep a relatively clean house though..
Finally I am done with the weird questions for tonight.. They weren't too bad.. or maybe it's just that I am getting weirder myself from answering the weird questions.. I am still chuckling about taking my clothes off for money and the very idea of me being gullible.. Those two things would be just too weird even for me! Hopefully you will survive all the weird days in this world we live in today.. Where weird has become boring and wacky has become the norm! Have a great day!

It's Weird Wednesday!! Are you ready to laugh?

"He had that rare weird electricity about him - that extremely wild and heavy presence that you only see in a person who has abandoned all hope of ever behaving normally. "
~ Hunter S. Thompson
"A man isn't poor if he can still laugh." ~ Raymond Hitchcock
"You get weird and unsettling behavior in the country." ~ Sara Paretsky
Hi and welcome to weird Wednesday and it's weird questions... I managed to answer eight questions today without feeling to overwhelmingly weird... for some weird reason the web sight that I usually get my questions from hadn't posted any questions today so I had to get these from a couple of other places.. If you have a question.. either weird or even just plain.. I will be glad to answer it on a Wednesday.. Just ask me in a comment and I'll get back to you with my weird answer..
Now on to the wildly weird questions for today!
1:) What sin do you most enjoy committing? ~ Wow! I cold say so many things in response to this question... who gets to decide that it's a sin?.. can we vote to decide rather or not it's a sin?... How do we know what's a sin for you is automatically a sin for me? .. what if I don't know it's a sin?.. Are sins supposed to be enjoyable? They didn't teach me that in Sunday School.. there they said sin was all bad and made you feel sick inside.. I guess if I have to admit to having a sin ... and I'm still not convinced that I do.. I will say eating.. Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins and that is the act of over indulging.. I actually think that could mean over indulging in anything pleasurable and not just food... OK I'll say eating too much.. No way I have time to go into all the rest of my sins on this blog.. and as always I'm sure my kids would rather not know! They would think I was weird if they knew I had sins.. Mom's don't supposed to have sins..
2:) Would you rather be rich and ugly, or Poor and good looking? OK what's up with this? Something weird is going on... I'm poor and ugly and that's not a choice... I'm a tiny bit fluffy too (as in Fat!) and that's not a choice either.. I don't want to be rich or especially good looking.. I'd like to have enough money to live without worrying rather or not the light bill gets paid.. I'd like to be able someday to go grocery shopping and fill two carts and not add it up as I go along...
( maybe I'll fill three and not shop again for a long long time!) Hold on a minute.... I guess I'd rather be poor and ugly since that's what I already am.. and money brings problems I don't need and if I was a beauty queen I might have a stalker or something weird like that.. Can I mix the choices up and just be plain old weird me? .. Good!!!! that's what I want to be!
3:) When was the best time, or what was the best experience, you've had with a sibling? Any time I am with a sibling is usually good times.... I like one on one time with them talking or going for a long walk... I love going hill sliding at what used to be rairoad tracks.. I love it when we play games together at family gatherings.. I am the very; very; all time very; best game maker upper.. Weird huh? who woulda thought?... But it's true.. I make up games and they play them like they are real games.. I once had kids wearing plastic shower caps covered with shaving cream and other kids throwing pretzels at them... no body thought it was weird.. they played and danced and laughed as if it wasn't weird at all.. the winner was who had the most pretzels on their head.. I know it was soooo weird.. I have made them hop like rabbits with a huge beach ball between their legs and have made them sew a whole line of folks together with a big wooden needle.. I have had them hop with a clothes pen
on the toe of their shoe and have seen grown men crawl with a child holding their feet.. The picture is of all the nieces and nephews trying to get a chunk of bubble gum from under a pile of whipped topping with no hands.. the entire team had to have a two inch bubble for that team to win.. we had so much fun.....Wow.. I want to make up some new weird games right now.. I love all seven of my siblings... I love their spouses and their children and grandchildren... all times with them are good times.. It would just be way to weird to choose one time and say it was best.4:) What would it take for you to reconcile with your greatest enemy? call me weird if you want to but there is no reconciliation if you are on my greatest enemy list... you three know who you are.. don't be weird and pretend you haven't done anything... In all honesty I wouldn't really say I have enemies.. at least none that I actually know of.. I'm a great person though and that is usually enough to cause someone to hate you.... and if I do have one or two (three!) then they should know ahead of time that I will get even.. I know.. I'm weird!
5:) What would your heaven be like? Heaven will have flowers and animals.. chickens I guess and dogs and birds of all kinds.. and lots of fish to look at moving in the crystal blue waters.. We will have sand for castles and gentle waves to wash them away each night so that we can build more the next morning as the new sun rises.. There will be fruits and nuts and vegetables to eat .. anytime you are hungry.. I guess I'd say a paradise.. a beautiful garden.. with all our family and friends in their OWN gardens down the beach from mine.. I won't mind if Dave lives in my garden but everyone else needs to plan on having there own.. It would be way to weird for us all to live in the same place again.. Heaven is not weird.. we have our own space there... you can visit my garden and even play in my sand but after that you have to go home to your own beach... I get to decide.. the question said MY HEAVEN...
6:) Do you feel that children should be sheltered from unhappiness? I do.... I will even give you a for instance.. Right now there are three children who are being talked about and gossiped over and there are some things being told that will shake their whole existence to the very core.. Their lives have been weird by most of our standards already and now even who they are and where they came from is being questioned and talked about as if it really matters... I am talking about the three children who knew Michael Jackson as their Dad.. I am sick of all the weird things being said and the speculation over who had them and who did what with whom and where.. These kids just know their Father died.. that's bad enough with out all the weird stuff being said.. Who cares if they were conceived in a clinic or in the backseat of a Cadillac... and why does it matter now.. He was weird.. we all know that.. but still his kids deserve some dignity and they deserve to have some privacy... who's to say that we might have been weird too if every step we took we had to watch for someone with a camera.... I'm weird and no one cares... the catch is that I'm not rich and famous and weird.. then someone would care.. then they would take bets on who my kids belonged too and how much I paid to have someone else have them.. and guess what... in the end.. it still wouldn't matter..
7:) What's one of the simple pleasures in your life? Holding Dave's hand... it's really his habit.. I was never in to the whole weird hand holding thing until I met him.. he will be walking beside you and just reach out and take your hand... it is very comforting and peaceful to walk along holding hands with someone you love... he will take your hand as you walk on the beach or in the woods or even as you walk across the parking lot into Walmart... I used to think it was weird but I guess either it got less weird or I got more weird because now I just think it's a wonderful simple pleasure! It's great to drink coffee with him in the chicken garden too.. Y'all should have been with us yesterday as we chased young hens and then had one crow at us.. it's weird when what you thought was a hen crows at you.. Yesterday was great escape day here.. but that's a story for another day... I guess yesterday was weird Tuesday!...
8:) If you went to a beach and it turned out to be a nude beach, would you stay and go swimming? Would you swim nude? I'm not sure.. it depends on how many weirdo's there were already swimming around naked and their parts bobbing or floating around.. does one's parts float and bob? It would be weird to stay and be the only person there with clothes on but it would be oh so much weirder to be swimming naked with people you don't know.. I might stay long enough to see what naked swimming looked like.. I am not being weird.. I'm being honest.. you know good and well that if you walked on a beach and then discovered that the people there were naked you would look a tiny little bit too.. I might not have my glasses on and then I might not even realize they were naked unless one walked right up to me.. I'm not weird I'm blind without my glasses.. You can say I'm weird but deep down you know you would stay a little while too.. who knows maybe you just thought they were naked... maybe they were changing or something..
Ok there ya go with my weird questions for today! Do you have a weird question that you would like to ask me? I will give you my weird answer if you will post your question in the comments section.. I will answer any questions you ask.. I might not give the answer you expected though! I am weird like that sometimes... I hope that not too many weird things happened today.. Have a great Wednesday!

Three for Thursday! short and sweet!
"Man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them."
- Adlai Ewing Stevenson
"The investigation of the meaning of words is the beginning of education."
- Antisthenes
"Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own."
- Carol Burnett
Good Evening and welcome to a short and sweet three for Thursday. It is just beginning to storm here so I will keep this as short as possible. Otherwise I will be knocked off-line over and over and By the time I have posted I will hate the rain and the internet and my computer. I will be saying words that will invite lightening to strike me in my nasty mouth... In order to avoid the likelihood of all this unpleasantness; I will simply share with you tonight three of my Haiku.. I will then watch the lightening from the safety of my bedroom window... No getting kicked off line.. no swearing.. no angry lightening striking me from the beautiful red sky...
~Yes I did say red sky. the sky here is red and fades to an almost lavender as it dips behind the trees across the dirt road from me.. I have never seen a sky quiet like this one... Beautiful and yet just a tiny bit UN-nerving for some reason.. birds are sitting on the ground as the winds begin to sway through the tree tops.. I have always heard that if the birds rest on the ground then a bad storm is coming your way... I am glad that I don't fear storms..... ~
Short and sweet.. Please enjoy my haiku tonight.. I hope that each of you have safety in whatever storms life may toss your way.. Have a great Night!

Wednesday Weirdness!!

"Dare to be different!" ~ Romans 12:2
"My life honestly isn't as weird as people think it is. I work longer hours, maybe I have a bit more money, but fundamentally, I'm not really that different." ~ Simon Cowell
"I don't pretend to be captain weird. I just do what I do." ~ Johnny Depp
Good afternoon to everyone on another Weird Wednesday. Today has definitely had it's on special weird moments. Just a typical day for me though. I can usually have at least one weird moment in every day! On to today's weirdness questions.
1.) What are your least favorite sounds? I dislike any sound that I can't figure out where it comes from... I dislike screaming children... unless they are hurt.. trapped or in danger... they shouldn't be screaming..I have a cure for that screaming for attention thing that seems to be so prevalent now. My children didn't do it.. Only one of my step-children did it.. once in a Walmart.. Needless to say once was enough for her... I think my very least liked sound, though, is the sound of the medi-vac helicopter that flies over my house almost every single day.. I always say a small prayer as it flies over; for I know that the sound of that Helicopter means bad news for a family somewhere here in town.
2.) Do you enjoy reading infidelity blogs? Why? If you don't, is there any reason why you don't?
Are there really infidelity blogs? Well I can't imagine that I would read them. I have been in the infidelity situation myself and it is a devastating place to find yourself. I would never expose all the things about that part of my life to the entire world and I can't fathom why anyone else would. If you are the one being cheated on you might want to vent your anger.. I personally wouldn't do it on-line.. I'd get a stick and see what I could do about the whole thing.. A red brick on a car hood will often scare the other woman away for a few weeks.. But in the end I think you are better off just tossing his clothes at her.. and be sure she gets the dirty underwear he left beside the bed too!
~ I have got to tell y'all that I couldn't believe that there were such things as infidelity blogs out there.. I just did a Google search and was floored by how many there are. I did visit about ten of them.. Half were Women who have been cheated on and have no clue where to go from here.. some of them need help right away.... some were people bragging about their affairs and even giving details... a few were actual dating sights for affairs. I find that very weird! I can't imagine that I would put all my personal information on-line to show everyone I was a cheater! I would also think long and hard before I met anyone from the world wide web for a "date". Just the idea of it reminds me of something my Daddy used to say! ~ "if they ain't very careful... they 'll be found dead in a ditch someday!"
3.) If you could make one frivolous purchase right now without expense being an option, what one thing would you go buy? I would buy me a horse.. I most likely would never ride it either,
so that is why I say it would be a frivolous purchase. Wow only one? I want a zebra too and some parrots.... maybe a monkey...
4.) Have you ever gotten drunk and then gotten behind the wheel to drive? No!!!! I certainly have not.. I have only been drunk once in my entire life and even drunk I had more sense than that.. Drunk is no excuse for doing something stupid.. Driving under the influence; even a little bit under the influence; is stupid! All my friends and even a few enemies know my feelings on this subject. I have told them all.. "if you go to jail for driving drunk DO NOT CALL ME!"
5.) As an adult, have you ever been caught having sex by someone you didn't ever want to catch you in the act? Well this is another weird question. Even though I promised my Mama and my kids I wouldn't do the sex questions, I am going to answer this one. I am an adult.. I have a lock on my bedroom door... Even when I was not exactly an adult, I practiced safe sex.. and that includes being in a safe and secure place.. a place that you won't be walked in on.. If you think you are old enough for having sex, then be smart enough to not be walked in on by any child or other adult!
6.) If your current significant other wound up in jail for no less than 5 years but didn't kill or physically harm anyone, would you wait for them or move on? I can't imagine any reason why a person could go to jail for five years and yet not have harmed anyone or kill anyone except for drugs.. Drugs harm not only the users but the victims that they rob and steal from to support their habit... I guess being a thief could get you five years in the poky too.. I hate thieves and liars... I wonder if driving under the influence can get you five years? if that was the reason I would refer you to the question about that above! ~ I can only say that I hope my beloved never goes to jail for five years because I might wait a little while if he was wrongly accused.. I'm getting old.. five years is a long time to me.. he will be better off just staying straight and out of jail...
7.) If you had to participate, would you rather be in a Mud wrestling competition or a Jello wrestling competition? WOW! Y'all do not want to see me in a mud wrestling event! Why can't I just be in a bake off or something like that? Once years ago Emily had a little friend over and they rode off down the dirt road on Bikes.. a little while they came back covered in mud from head to toe.. The other girl had tossed a mud ball and hit Em. Em had thrown one back and hit the other girl.. she had pushed Emily and then suddenly they were rolling in the mud fighting like crazy. At least that is the story they shared with Dave, Thoi and I when they came pushing the bikes back up the dirt road, both of them looking like mud balls themselves. They were too young to have ever heard of mud wrestling at the time.. Or at least I think Emily was.. needless to say I told them to get cleaned up and I carried the other child right home. I will give them credit though that even now after all these years they have stuck to their original story. I guess if I can't be the umpire or just watch.. ( do guys Jello wrestle?) I'll choose jello.. I would also like it to be lime jello and can I get a shot of tequila first?
Well there ya go. My answers to today's weirdness questions. Some of these were truly weird questions. No wonder they call it "Weirdness Wednesday". I hope that everyone enjoys today's answers. Let your weird side show a little today! If you don't have a weird side then maybe you can just enjoy the weirdness of others... Have a wonderful day!

Three for Thursday!
"Motivation is an external, temporary high that pushes you forward. Inspiration is a sustainable internal glow which pulls you forward." ~Thomas J. Leonard
"I learned ... that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic striving, but it comes into us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness." ~ Brenda Ueland
~I bet everyone is surprised to see more from me so soon. My computer decided it liked me for an extra hour tonight so here I sit thinking about what would be good to write about on Thursdays.. A lot ob bloggers have a different theme for each night. There are a few for Thursday; but being me and my normally contrary self; I didn't like any of them! Well I like them but they wouldn't stick with me.. or I wouldn't stick with them.. we would simply loose interest and then Thursdays would be a wash till I figured out something else. So tonight begins my very own~ "Three for Thursday!" ~ Thursday night event. Each Thursday I will have three of something on my blog.. It might be pictures of something or maybe someone.. It might be questions with answers.... I could share with you three of my thoughts from that day.. I could find three riddles.... Or Maybe I could write three Rhymes... And Maybe IT could be a combination of three but you'll get three on Thursday.. For as long as I can anyway! We will of course always begin with three quotes...
1- (thought)~
Tonight's quotes are about inspiration. People often ask me where I get my inspiration for a poem or a story. I wish I knew. I have dreamed poems and got up from my bed to write them down. I have felt them tumble through my mind as I drove eighty miles an hour to keep from being late to work. And I have cried for no reason and wrote words that I had no idea were in my heart. I really do wish I knew where some of the things come from.. they just come.. Even the un-invited ones come.. The sad and lonely ones come.. But thankfully the happy hopping silly ones come too! ( like inspiration can actually hop and skip into your work!?)
2- (haiku)~
A Delicacy
the cast iron skillet
sizzling over the blaze
legless bullfrogs roar

3- ( Picture!)
Feeding the Birds
Mother's Day!

Hunting Island State Park!
~ though we didn't know it then; those truly were good days!~
So there ya go! Three for Thursday! This week I gave you a good example. I hope you are having a great Day today. Try to be an inspiration to someone today if you can. Enjoy new foods if you get the chance. You never know until you try it. Hold the precious memories of your children close. If you are raising children , please give them good things to remember. Inspire them to become the best that they can be. Allow them to also inspire you ! Laugh often, Love as many as you can! Have a great day!

Wednesday Again!?!
"Poetry is nearer to vital truth than history." ~Plato~
"A poem begins with a lump in the throat." ~Robert Frost~
"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. " ~Carl Sandburg~
I hope you enjoy today's poem. Please feel free to comment on my blog.
I promise I don't bite! (Much!)
Shadow Dance
Did you ever see a shadow
walking on your heels?
Did you ever turn around
and try to chase him down?
Did you offer him your hand
ask him to dance?
Share with him your heart..
are you scared to take the chance?
Did you hide inside your head
all the things you wished to say?
Did you ask the Lord in Prayer
can I have another day?
If you had another day
would you let your body sway?
Would you open up your heart
to let others see a part.
Would you share with him a smile
as you walk another mile?
Would you freely take a chance?
would you let your shadow dance?
Would you laugh.. would you share..
would you cry.. would you dare?
To live.. to love..
to soar.. to cry..
just try!
Let it fly!
Love; Live
Take the chance!
Let your shadow dance!
By: Patricia Sawyer
written:2-23-1999
When I was a little girl I used to love to see my shadow on the ground. I would make it dance and jump and run. For some reason it always brought me great pleasure to let my shadow dance.It was like I was happy inside and out. The next time you see your shadow~ on the ground or on another surface ~ hop or skip or jump.. do something to let the child inside know you are aware of them.. Let your shadow dance and enjoy a few steps with them.. Hopefully it will leave you feeling refreshed and happy~ But, if nothing else it will give any watchers a smile.. Have a wonderful Day!
