Happy Sisters Day!

"I don't need a friend who changes when I change and who nods when I nod; my shadow does that much better." ~ Plutarch

Me and My Sisters....

Sister's Day

Celebrated on the First Sunday in August.. Sister's Day recognizes being or having a sister... That means a lot of us will celebrate this special day... My Sisters are truly special and unique.. each of them different.. we may have argued and fought when we were younger.. always careful not to earn one of those quarter whippings my Daddy gave and my Mama paid for.. as she says in "one way or another".. It was always the sisters' fault of course.. they wouldn't let me wear their clothes.. one of them had on my shoes.. They shut the door to our room and said they had secrets.. they played with my paper dolls.. But, I will tell you one thing for sure.. when you get right down to it.. my sisters are some of the very best people I know.. they are kind and giving and all of them beautiful.. I am proud to have each and every one of them as sisters..
~ Trudy...
... Mary~
~ Martha...
All of us with Our Mama.. Aren't we beautiful..?
and Our two Sister in Laws..
~ Camella and Patricia..
I love all of my Sisters very much.. I am proud of them and all that they have accomplished in life.. I have cried and laughed with each of them.. We have sang around the piano and on the banks of a pond.. we have planned parties and played games with each others children.. We have danced at birthday parties and in the rain.. we have played and worked side by side.. I am blessed to call each and every one you my sisters.. Have a wonderful day!
Patsy

Sister

Secrets we whispered in a four poster bed
In pajamas with stripes or nightgowns of red
Singing together Sweet Hour of Prayer
Trials and troubles and laughter we share
Each of us different.. in habits and trends
Remarkable the ladies.. My sisters.. My Friends..

I love the first quote--that is great!!

I like this post a ton. I don't have a sister and I always feel like I'm left out. I have some good friends--but I just don't get the sister thing, wish I did. I feel like I am missing something in my life because of that.

You are all beautiful!!! Look at that family of yours---how lucky you are. :)

Enjoy and give them all a hug from a sisterless gal.

Patsy, I have never heard of this day but it is beautiful and you are blessed with beautiful ones.

I do like the 'old' picture at the top. Sometimes with all the digital ones that we have today we forget just how magical old ones are. So many were just out of focus or not as good as we thought we remembered them. The wait to have them processed almot with crossed fingers in the hope that most of them would turn out all right. We almost forget what it was like, the anticipation of picking up the photos from the chemists, don't we?

A wonderful post!!

Lin~ I can't imagine being a sisterless child.. we would chase each other and sing and play games..they brushed my hair.. wow.. I will give each of them a hug from a sisterless gal.. Maybe we can adopt you..

Sunshine.. Thanks.. maybe by next year it will be one "sister" sweeter..

Kloggers Polly~ I absolutely adore old Photo's.. so much in fact that I have brought boxes of them home from the thrift store and even a recycling bin... I didn't know them but I loved their antics and they show up once in a while on my blog properly edited to protect the innocent..

Sandy~ there are many almost un-known holidays.. I google them.. Google loves us!

Imelda~ we are lucky.. even if I was angry with one of them I'd say so and it would soon be over.. for a large family we do get along rather well compared to some that I personally know..

Camella~ I love you and was glad to see you sister post as well.. even if we only have brothers.. we are still a sister.. You and Trisha are my "soul" sisters.. you know like soul mates..
